Very sad news. We’ve lost one of the most influential artists in the fandom. Yesterday, TOR (Tim O’Rourke) passed away of a heart attack.
His artwork was the first furry art I had ever seen, and thus it was he who sparked my interest in furry. When I began posting my own art, which was inspired by his, he was the first to leave me a comment. Over the years, I developed a friendship with the man whom I admired, and had the honor of sharing some beers with during our visits. I am so incredibly proud to call this man my friend, and his loss is hitting me harder than I could have planned. He was my furry mentor, and he will never be forgotten as long as I’m alive.
If you are not familiar with his artwork, and you like feral furry art, then you absolutely MUST see his work! IMO, he is and always will be the godfather of feral art. He was among the first to draw anatomically correct ferals despite it being a huge taboo in the fandom at the time. He did it no matter what people thought and shared his work with the world. And as a result, he inspired new generations of feral artists as well as other furry artists, many names you’d likely recognize. His work should never be forgotten. He deserves to be remembered.
Tim, may your memories and your work live forever. I will miss you, bud!
Wow, those two were my point of entry into the fandom too. His art is still amazing, and I wish I had the chance to meet him. My sympathy to his friends and loved ones, and especially to you, EmptySet.

One of the very very earliest yiff pictures of Sarabi mating that I had ever seen was made by him. More the exception for him, to draw that, I guess. But yes, that art was very nice. I'm sad I didn't get to talk to him, ever.

Very sad news, and I'm sorry for your loss EmptySet. :(
I never knew TOR the person, but imagine he was pretty cool. I keep hearing him described as a pioneer. Personally, I discovered his art long ago and loved it all. One of his works is my top favorite piece of feral art (and it's not even foxes!)
May his art and legacy continue to inspire!

He'll be missed greatly. He's someone who got me into feral too, along with your art. He's had a hard battle, but when I was told it still came as a shock. He will indeed be remembered, that's something we all owe him. RIP.
