Naked Nintendo Print Collection?

I think that sounds like a fun idea to make! :3

Basically I'd just wanna draw a bunch of game or Nintendo characters being naked or naughty, and have all the prints in a book for folks to buy all at once?

But I'm curious about Copyright - folks buy and sell fan stuff all the time, shirts, posters, plushes, commissions - I never see people complain about that in comments or in person at conventions, but whenever I make those things, I feel like people warn me about copyright. So I usually don't! But if everyone buys and sells that stuff, and Nintendo rarely ever comes down on people to stop them, maybe I'll open up to it? It's not like Nintendo will ever make a NSFW book of their characters. X3
And maybe calling it a Print Collection sounds better than calling it a book, since maybe books seem big and official.

I still have two other books of original art and characters I'm doing, but this third idea sounds fun. :3

I imagine Nintendo wouldn't come down on you unless it was a huge money making operation that could be sued, instead of it being a small time parody book of sexy characters ? :3

Yeah! :3 I mean I don't think I've even sold 50 books with all mine put together. ;P So I don't expect more than that from one book - and if people online barely notice my art, I don't expect a big company to. :3

Haha, it does! I loved this Nudtendo project someone did, it was all art prints, and they also made card decks with them. :3 They never got in trouble for it but they're from Germany. 8D

It sounds neat but when it comes to a book, copyrights are harsher than a shit or print. I would honestly stay away from that but maybe sell them as small print collections at cons.

A friend mentioned a book sounds bigger than just a print!
I wonder if just calling a book a "print collection" sounds less serious. ;P But that's probably being too sneaky.

Sounds really interesting and fun to see your drawing of naked Nintendo characters! I would buy that and surely you won't get any copyrighted trouble.:3

Thanks! Yeah, there are a ton of Nintendo and game books and things on Lulu already. I don't think they'll mind mine. X3

It's possible you won't get into trouble, but I would NOT rely on any company's will to "look the other way", especiallly if money is involved. Like, I'm kind of paranoid, but that just sounds like inviting trouble. Even if the chance of getting caught is like 1:10000 or something, that's still an unnecessary risk for a not really that substantial reward.

It's usually better to do things like these non-profit.

It's definitely a risk! My first comic had game stuff in it so for that I purchased them myself and then gave them to a few interested friends for free. I guess just after seeing how everyone does this stuff and nobody seems to ever get in trouble (or just a cease and desist order if they make a game of an existing franchise) it's just making me feel like I should try what I want and relax since no one else seems to care. X3 But I'll keep thinking about it. :3

If you're gonna go for that, probably a good idea to give the artists pseudonyms to ensure they don't get the heat if it comes to the big N's attention.

You're honestly more likely to get in trouble if it's clean stuff, since it arguably competes with what they do, so they can't just turn a blind eye.

That's true! I definitely wouldn't need to put website and contact information on em in that case. ;3
Luckily with that Starfox fan cartoon, they were asked to C&D but all they had to do was not mention any Nintendo names in it - so I think I'll also not mention character names in it. ;P

Well, companies like Nintendo do seem to be less litigious these days than they were 15 years ago... If you do go for it, I think you'd be the perfect candidate to draw anything involving Nintendo cuties! ;P

Haha aww, yeah! There's so much Nintendo stuff out there people sell or make and Nintendo just never cares or does anything, so I guess I'm more concerned than they are. X3 Thank you! You do super cute stuff of em when ya do too! :D
