Some artists expressed concerns about making the HiRes/Sales MD5s public. So we have changed the display so the HiRes/Sales MD5s are now only visible to the submission owner.
The submission owner will still see them listed on the Submission page in the same way as before, but that section will be hidden for everyone else.
The HiRes/Sales MD5s can still be used by anyone to find the original post on IB via Search, but they have to know the MD5 hash first.
These changes are now active for public testing, and will be officially announced in the next site update.
The MD5 is just a handful of characters long, it's not possible to recreate and image with it. I wonder what is the concern of the artists ; there must be a good reason.
