Sorry for the delay in responding, haven't been myself for a couple of weeks. Better now though... Anyway, yeah, drawing with a d-pad would be pretty cumbersome, kinda like drawing on an Etch-a-Sketch. I had to look that one up on Google to see if they still make those, otherwise I just gave away my age... d'oh!

When you do art on the 3DS, do you use the directional pad? Or does it have a touch screen? Guess I'm just a little curious how that works out, you know, what goes on behind-the-scenes as it were. I do beta testing on this little weather app and I am actually fascinated by what goes on in the background.

Truth be told I didn't know you could draw on a 3DS - the last gaming console that I have is a PS2 (sadly inherited rather than purchased). I've never owned a handheld... which is probably why I'm terrible at gaming! Hope you had a good Christmas!
