I am a gay, male, furry-friendly guy that was mated to a furry werewolf for 14 years. I wrote The Song Stories for him. Raised in an abusive family, he dreamed of one day finding a family like those of the wolves he loved. He wanted a family that protected each other, watched over the young and the aged, and that mated for life. Each Christmas, I gave him another book in the series of a furry family that became the family he dreamed of for so many years.
As he read them, he told me that one day he thought I should publish them. I told him I would think about it, but that I really didn’t think it had a target audience. The stories I wrote were written for him. There is quite a bit of gay sex in every book, but not enough for a one-handed read, and far too much story between the sex. Anyone hoping for a romance will probably think they stumbled onto a bodice ripper on steroids. So, who would want to read the books? The answer is the man I wrote them for.
He never believed my explanation that the stories were told to me by the characters in the book. I never had to work to know where the story went. I would start writing and the story just poured out. Wherever it told me to go, that is where I went. I was a scribe for a family that wanted to tell my mate about their life.
I wrote the books because my mate enjoyed reading them. He died in December 2021 from blood poisoning caused by a kidney stone. This is my effort to honor his wish to publish them. They are the dreams we shared of a life where family loved and protected each other. They were the dreams that when we mate, we mate for life. Our life of fourteen years together was far too short, but we beat the odds. We mated for life, and the family he loved lives on in the books. As with all dreams, they are free. I hope you enjoy them.
