Heya Guys! Kuro here. My Patreon is unsuspended, and open once again for new rewards!
It’s back to the drawing board for this mouse. But fear not, I’m bringing back Sam and the gang! Though this time, with a bit of a world change and a new beginning. Plot wise, all events that happened in OSE will have happened though it’ll be after a time skip. And IP owned by Nintendo are excluded. We came to an agreement on that.
Characters and World:
The working title of the new comic is “Sam and the Changing Fates”
Sam will now be a small, well endowed, fennec fox! With the rest of the gang taking on other animals and mythical creatures. The world will comprise of ferals (4 legged creatures) with the ability to turn anthro on demand. Instead of college, Sam will be joining Pride’s Guild! Going on quests and odd jobs leading to “fun scenarios.” This new world is created to be much more inclusive than the OSE world.
+500 Rewards changed to new comic: Promised pages will be honored and accepted until August 31, 2019. At this point the OSE reward pages will no longer be offered. Replaced with a cameo appearance in the new comic with a 3 panel intro paget. Patrons who already received an intro page have a chance moving forward of having their fursona (Non-Nintendo) added as a cameo character as well with another 3 panel intro. Though they will be required to have a 1k total pledged for this chance.
I’m grateful to all fans of OSE for sticking it out these 3 years with me. This is a new beginning for Sam and friends in a grand adventure that’ll take our fluffy hero to new places with a new form. But the same personality you all know. And now is a great opportunity to include your fursona! I’ll list restrictions on a needed basis for that, but just bear in mind this world has mostly 4 legged creatures. Your character can and will be turned into a feral for the intro pages, but can appear anthro when in the background. Species included can be nearly anything.
Comic pages are slated to release on Mondays, and will appear on Patreon up to a full 4 weeks ahead, just like OSE was at the $20 tier.
Thank you all for reading, and especially thank you for your continued support. Our community took a small hit this day, but we creators are resilient and ready to deliver content worth your time and money. And I will continue delivering content into the foreseeable future. OSE may potentially be worked on, on the side and posted publicly. However I cannot guarantee this.

I'm sure money plays a role but as far as I know Nintendo is more about being against NSFW pictures in general. That is why the tag on rule34 was changed to Porkyman instead so the stuff can't be found using an image search anymore, but still let the images available instead of taking them all down with a DMCA which is a little weird : Either they're fine with that since no money is technically made that way, or they can't send a DMCA but were able to send a Trademark notice for Pokemon, maybe due to the servers location. But yeah it didn't help that there was a $ counter on a Patreon using their own properties

The reception, and subsequently, success of this new comic idea, if you're serious about going through with it, is, I think, going to rely heavily on the new character designs you ultimately choose to replace the eeveelutions with, since really, the visual design of the characters is the only thing that'll be changed from the OSE comic, at least if I understood this correctly. Everything else will mostly be the same, its just the characters are going to have their appearances changed, right? Honestly, I think its extremely important that you spend a lot of time thinking over and revising any design you choose to go with before finalizing it and making it official. I would even go so far as to say you should try to be transparent with what ideas you're considering for these new characters and maybe even show off the prototype designs in advance, to gauge fan reception and see what people think, whether they'll still be willing to support it or whether it'll be back to the drawing board. Either way, this is definitely a momentous occasion and the beginning of something new. Best to start off on a good note and avoid simply rushing into it.

I'm fully in board with the idea, since Kuro's style itself is what makes me like the comic (though I will miss Vees a bit). As admirable as your tenacity is, normally such circumstances would mean there really isn't a point in continuing. Changing the whole formula means that you admit you have to change your whole identity and that's something I believe is unacceptable and definitely something you shouldn't have to do. It isn't fair that this is the conclusion that its come to and as far as I get Nintendo giving flak, it doesn't mean this has to be the end.

However for some reason this doesn't apply to artists drawing characters they don't own from big companies, for a monetary gain on top of that. It's not exactly a nice scenario that's been happening to Kuro but Nintendo is in the right here, despite them having all the powers and make it seem like they held a gun to his head. They only want to protect their properties, which any artist here wants by very often having disclaimers such as "DO NOT REPOST" "DO NOT USE IN RP" and "DO NOT REUPLOAD" but this protection seems to go out the window for properties like Pokemon and Digimon. The legal way to make a living off of art always has been to make your own creations, not to use others and piggyback from it. That's why copyrights protections are a thing in the first place

You can always just continue OSE on Inkbunny/FA "on your own time" and do an original or different IP comic on patreon with both having biweekly updates so your schedule doesn't change. Patreon says you just can't use your patreon account for OSE because they were told to. They didn't say you're not allowed to post it anywhere while having a patreon up. You can just use patreon to fund a new comic while also secretly funding OSE and "Take commissions" for those who reach $500 in total and want to have an OSE cameo or a regular reward if they decide to choose whatever the original idea would be. Just don't mention patreon rewards for the OSE styled commissions when posting them on public sites.
If people are still able to use patreon to fund cub smut while posting it somewhere else, then you can still be able to use patreon to fund OSE, but "make and post it on your own time" on a public website since your patreon is "only funding the new comic". I just hope you take a chance to read these comics before you continue moving forward with these large changes.

End OSE. This is not a jab at the comic, because I've loved (almost) every page you've made. This is out of respect for the story you've made with the characters you have established. I believe it is the absolute worst idea in the world to try and import these characters to a new medium with a new idea and expect them to be as popular. You may keep the crowd here purely for the art style, you may not even lose the majority, but I believe the heart of the comic will never be the same. I'm not trying to start an argument here, but this is wrong. End the comic, start a brand new one, with brand new characters, and let us all fall in love with them all over again. We get to keep our view of the eeveelutions in tact and witness the birth of a new comic that people can follow and Nintendo can't bitch about. and people get their goofy grins and big balls and thicc asses. Win/win across the board. OSE has had a long run, years even. Let it rest PLEASE. You can tell the same kind of story, with the same kind of personalities, without dragging those characters out of their original material.
I mean no offense, really. I don't normally throw in my two cents, but this has to be stopped if at all possible. It's not too late, since you've just recently decided this course of action. I'm sorry to everyone who has paid to see it continue, but this isn't Kuro's fault. It's no one's fault but Nintendo's. Maybe I'm alone in feeling like this, but I don't care. This comic has been an inspiration for me in many ways, and to see it passed on from what made it so special to me to.. something else, while trying to keep its composure would break my heart. Let's just let it stand as is, nearly 200 pages strong, and move on. I don't want to see it end as is, and I'm sure everyone else doesn't either, but it has, and the choice is now to keep trying to force it to work or make something completely new? Sure, it may suck to end it at first, but if people are invested in your comics for the right reasons, Kuro, they will stay.. they will love the new content just as much.
