On the fourth floor of a seven story high hotel, two very bored Umbreon were together being... bored. Why were they bored?
"RAARRRGGH!! THERE'S NOTHING TO DO!!" One of them exclaimed. He forced himself out of bed, falling down onto the ground on his back with loud thud. “…Ow..”
“Quit fooling around, Jerry, we need something to do before I die of boredom.” The other spoke.
“Well, what CAN we do, sir?”
“Hrrmmm… give me a moment to think.” The two Umbreon sat together, looking amongst the room as well as themselves. One Umbreon, Jerry, was a green ringed Umbreon while his companion was like any other Umbreon pretty much… yellow rings and black fur. “I heard there was a spring here in the hotel. Why don’t we go check it out? Sounds like a nice place.”
“Aww… do we have to? Can’t we go swimming or to the arcade or something?”
“Grrr… wait… did you say arcade?” His eyes widened at the word.
“Yeah, I saw this little arcade down in the back room of the first floor.” Jerry replied. “Can’t we go there instead, Keron, sir?” A low yip sounded out from the green Umbreon as he found himself being dragged forcefully to the elevator.
“TO THE ARCADE!!”
“Whoa, s-sir! Lemme go!” Jerry squirmed and yipped louder as he was dragged along the carpet all the way to the elevator doors from their room.
Once down to the first floor, Keron pounced out of the elevator and landed on his face. “Sir… you’re too hype about this arcade.”
“Mmm mmmff mmm.” Keron spoke, his words muffled by the floor. He pulled himself up and looked over at Jerry. “Lead the way.” Jerry chuckled nervously s he walked in front of the Umbreon, making his way towards the back room with his fellow Umbreon companion right behind him.
After a couple minutes, they were at the arcade. Inside was dark, illuminated by the glowing lights of the dark blue bulbs above as well as the shines of the arcade games.
“Wooooow… check it out…” Keron glanced around at game after game. “They have The Legend of Eevee, Pac-Man, Luca Man one through six, Super Probio Bros., Jiggly’s Dream Land, Shaynic the Hedgehog, Shaymin Spinball, and even Zang Goozo vs. the World!”
“Uhh… yeah…… what?” Jerry stared at the yellow Umbreon, his eyes blinking.
“Nothing. Let’s play some games!!” Keron rushed inside, making off to a game or two. Jerry sighed then chuckled as he went in another direction towards a different game to try out.
Nearly several hours later, Keron and Jerry finally finished up their playing games. The two met up in the middle of the arcade.
“Yeah… that was awesome!” Keron giggled, his entire body shaking, jittery on a gaming high.
“Too awesome! Can’t wait for next time.” Jerry’s eyes were opened wide, bloodshot from the endless gaming.
~Next time? Oho, young Umbreon, there isn’t gonna BE a next time~
“Aww… but Keron…”
“What? What about me?” The Umbreon tilted his head to the side.
“Why won’t there be a next time?”
“What are you talking about? I’m coming back here tomorrow!”
~There will be no coming back tomorrow… as you will never be leaving here at all…~
Keron and Jerry blinked then began to look around. “Okay… who’s there and what do you want?”
“If you want some bullets in your mouth, keep talking.” Keron pulled out a pistol from… who knows where.
~Let’s see what good you can do when YOU are put in the terrain of the hero~
Keron tilted his head and Jerry blinked again, wondering what was going on and what the voice meant. Before they knew it, the machines and games began to react violently, shaking and trembling about. Keron and Jerry were now back to back, looking around their environment of video games. Jerry had unsheathed a sword, holding it with both paws, ready to slash at whatever he had to.
Out of nowhere, a P1 and P2 symbol appeared over their heads, a yellow P1 resting above Keron with a green P2 over Jerry’s head.
“What are those?” Jerry asked, looking up at his own symbol.
“It’s just like in the video games… I’m player one… you’re player two. So… does that mean…” Next they heard the sound of something rising up to the top. They stopped and looked up at the wall above the exit to see two health bars, green and full with three hearts next to both.
“So… we’re in a video game?” Jerry asked. “No, everything is still here and real.”
“Looks like we’ve been videoized or…. Something.” Keron told his companion. Jerry gasped. Was it true? The thought alone was a dream come true, but having it actually happen?
“I think I’m in heaven…” Jerry spoke with a longing, dreamy tone.
“Keep your guard up, soldier. There’s no telling what’s about to happen.” Keron alerted. The machines began to glow a bright white light and figures seemed to be materializing from the games. “Something’s coming out of the games…”
“What are they?” Jerry looked over towards The Legend of Eevee as its figure made itself out of the screen completely. “It looks… it looks like…. Okay, will the white light fade already?” Keron sighed and rolled his eyes.
“Give it a moment.. I think everything is finishing up.” They looked left and right and found themselves surrounded by the white figures. After about another minute’s time, the forms took color and the two gasped at what they saw.
“Vink… Zang… Luca Man… Shaynic… Probio… even Jiggly… what the hell is going on here?”
“Whatever it is, Jerry, they don’t look like they want to be friends. Get ready to seek and destroy the targets.” Keron readied his pistol and Jerry gripped his sword. The six ‘heroes’ watched their two targets, awaiting the first move. The two Umbreon did just the same, waiting for them to make even the slightest approach.
Eyes went around one another for the next couple minutes before the first attack was finally made. With a loud battle cry, Shaynic curled up into a ball and began to charge, a green and white glow covering his balled form. Vink unsheathed his own sword and jumped forward towards the two Umbreon. Jerry took the beat and went after the Eevee, steel clashing and clinging, echoing through the room. Probio hopped high into the air, Keron firing away at him, shot after shot. Probio managed to easily avoid every bullet while Jiggly slowly snuck in towards the yellow Bre.
Luca Man charged up his Luca Buster, his form glowing and flashing with the fully charged gun. Keron’s eyes darted towards the Lucario quickly and a second pistol materialized in his right paw, firing a rather large shot at him. Luca Man launched his fully charged shot at the bullet, the two clashing and causing a violent explosion.
Vink’s sword clanged with Jerry’s with every attack, left and right, top and bottom, side to side. No matter where, neither eeveelution could get in a hit. Shaynic’s fully prepared spin dash set off and he went in towards Jerry. Hearing the launch fire, Jerry pulled back from Vink and sky jumped up towards the ceiling. Vink managed to catch Shaynic just in time and sidestepped out of the way of his attack. Shaynic darted himself against the wall, bouncing off of it and up into the sky towards Jerry. Seeing that, Jerry pulled out his sword and placed it in front of him, catching the hedgehog Pokemon and blocking his attack. The Shaymin didn’t give up though as he continued to try and force himself pass the sword, spinning roughly on it and pushing forward with all of his might. Jerry grunted, pushing back, using all of his brute force to keep the hedgehog from pushing to victory.
Keron growled, firing a large pistol shot at Luca Man just as he sent a Laser Trident his way. The Umbreon yipped and matrixed his way out of it, sighing with relief. “Son of a bitch cheated!” He exclaimed, placing his pistols back in his inventory and pulling out an UZI gun and a set of Charge Packs. Luca changed up on weapons and began charging another attack.
“Looks like Magma Cannon to me.” Keron said to himself as he shot at the Lucario, Luca Man ran out of the way of the rapid fire attacks, jumping, sliding, and dashing past and through Keron’s force.
“Fuckin’ shit…” Keron spoke lowly as he stopped his firing to reload. Luca Man took the chance and launched his Magma Cannon, the three large balls of flame darting in towards him in three different directions. Keron, however, knew he’d take advantage of the moment and threw a Charge at the forward moving flame, detonating it when the flame and Charge connected, causing a large explosion with a heavy amount of smoke to emit and fog the area with the black smoke.
Probio looked around his surroundings from the ceiling, spotting Jerry not far off, occupied with Shaynic. He chuckled and dropped into the smoke, disappearing into the arcade below. Jerry swung his sword and sent Shaynic flying in a different direction before dropping from the ceiling and into the smoke as well. With a thud, he landed on something soft and squishy. “Huh? What the..?” He looked down and faintly saw the cream fur and green tunic of Vink the Eevee. “Bitch!” He stood quickly and began stomping at the Vee’s head before he was kicked away hard. Jerry flew back towards the wall, catching himself and breaking the force of his sliding, gently tapping the wall when he came to a stop.
Jiggly began to make a big inhale, sucking in all of the smoke and clearing out the area. He then turned towards Keron, whom was setting a Charge in a hidden spot, and launched a star two times his own size at the Umbreon. Keron just finished setting the Charge and casually walked off, missing the star that he wasn’t even aware of. “That should do. Just have to remember the spot and wait for someone to walk over it and BAM!... dead.” Keron chuckled and looked over to his partner.
Meanwhile, Jerry had his paws full with Vink and Probio, avoiding Probio’s fireballs and clashing swords with Vink once more. The Eevee growled darkly, his forehead dripping with blood. Jerry kept his eyes peeled on both of them, watching their every move. “Come at me!” Jerry roared as his sword slashed over Vink’s hip, leaving a small gash. The Eevee grunted in pain, growling louder as his sword began to glow. Jerry stepped back, only to have his back pressed to Probio. Probio smirked and grabbed the Umbreon, causing him to yip and whimper at what was to come.
“…Dammit…” He sighed, knowing that fate was going to get him and his first life. An explosion sounded close and Probio let go of the Umbreon and fell back, groaning in pain.
Keron sighed, going over and lifting up his partner. “You okay, solider?” He asked as Jerry stood up. Jerry nodded at him, seeing the used Rocket Launcher in his paws.
“Yeah. Thanks, sir.” Jerry smiled and looked back over at Vink. “But these guys don’t even seem slightly hurt. What should we do?”
“First… someone’s missing…”
“Pac-Man… hasn’t been in any of this.. where is he?” Jerry looked around while Vink slowly moved back. Keron noticed the Eevee and tilted his head, aiming the Rocket Launcher at the Hylian swordsman. However, before he knew it, his gun was consumed by the giant, yellow ball that is Pac-Man.
“MOTHER FUCK!!” Keron shouted when his entire weapon was just eaten whole. He sighed yet again and jumped back from Pac-Man, pulling out a Shotgun. “You want something to eat? Eat these!” Keron began firing away at Pac-Man. The yellow creature simply opened his mouth and swallowed every shot with a loud “waka” sound effect.
“That won’t work, sir. Pac-Man will eat anything that’s small enough.” Jerry warned. Pac-Man smirked and dropped a Power Pellet in front of him. “….Shit. RUN!!” Keron and Jerry panicked and sprinted off to other quarters of the arcade to hide from the now seemingly invincible Pac-Man. Their forms both glow a bright blue as they were made highly vulnerable to the yellow ball… circle… thing.
Probio stood up slowly, groaning a bit in bits of pain. Vink went over to help him up while Jiggly and Shaynic were hunting down the two adversaries. Meanwhile, Zang Goozo searched around, looking left and right from the ceiling, an electric guitar in his paws. He managed to spot Jerry and chuckled as he soon dropped down onto one of the pinball machines, surprisingly not making a single sound. Soon enough, the Power Pellet’s effect came to an end and Pac-Man’s attempt was very unsuccessful. He decided to wait out using another one until he could get close and went to just scanning the area for either two Umbreon.
“I gotta find Keron. We shouldn’t have split up so quickly.” Jerry said to himself, unaware of Zang’s approaching him from the pinball machines above. Zang prepared his guitar and, once he came close enough, he hopped up into the sky and came crashing down fast, sending his guitar smashing hard into Jerry’s head. The Umbreon yipped loudly and fell forward, taking the hit with every ounce of pain. However, luckily, there was no pain. He just took the hit and found himself able to stand up with great ease.
“Ahh! What the hell, man!?” He yelled at Zang. “Not cool, dude. Not. FUCKING. COOL!!” He howled and kicked the Zangoose in the crotch, causing him to yelp and clutch his privates before taking a sword slash to the neck. Zang flinched and yipped before getting slashed at again and falling onto his back, taking a heavy amount of damage, but not a single mark left on his body.
“This is so awesome.” Jerry said with a smile before running off, knowing that there would be others near. Jiggly was, indeed, closing in on Jerry and he had his plans set. He floated over onto the quarter machine not far from the green Bre and began to inhale. Jerry blinked when he felt himself being pulled forward and came to a stop, wondering what was going on. Before he knew it, he was being sucked in full force into Jiggly. The pink puffball thing smiled and swallowed in Jerry, causing him to plop out free, taking little damage, while Jiggly began to copy the Umbreon’s abilities.
Jiggly’s body grew a faint shade of a dull black-pink color with a bright green ring on his forehead. A sword appeared in his paw, silver blade with a blue-green handle grip. Stars shone from his body as he successfully took on Sword Jiggly with Jerry’s shading on him.
“…You bastard!” Jerry exclaimed, jumping back from the ability stealing thingamajig.
Elsewhere, Keron was snooping around under the machines, looking out occasionally for any signs of anyone. “Oh yeah.. Solid Ekans all the way…” He smirked and pulled out two mines. He prepared the mines and set one down under the Zang Gooso vs. the World machine and placed the other one right out in the open not far from it. He used switching to falsely activate the exposed mine, having it blink secondly as if it were turned on but wouldn’t go off if stepped on. The other one, under the machine, was activated and set to blow if someone stepped or hovered over it. His plan was placed in and he then equipped himself with some spikes. He jumped up onto the ceiling next to the machine and placed the spikes right over the machine. Keron himself would be able to set off the mines if he were right above the game, but the spikes were an inanimate object and wouldn’t cause his specially designed mines to detonate.
“Now… to find someone to claim…” His eyes went around to find Jerry clashing swords between Vink and Jiggly with Probio preparing a Fire Dragon attack. Keron knew what he had to do and pulled out an Energy Sniper. He set his target on Probio and fired a glowing beam of dark, radioactive energy at the Probopass brother. Probio, unaware of the approaching shot, took the hit full on and he flew and smashed into the wall next to him, leaving a cracked dent.He pulled himself from the wall and looked up to spot his attacker, growling and jumping up at him.
“Good boy..” Keron dropped down from the ceiling, next to the open claymore on the ground. Probio ricocheted from the ceiling and darted for the Umbreon. Keron hopped out of the way and Probio collided with the ground, causing another cracked dent. He looked over at the mine and shook his head, wondering why the Bre would do something as dumb as put a mine out in the open. Keron whistled to catch the ‘mon’s attention and waved at him, standing on the Zang Gooso vs. the World machine, not directly above the mine though. Probio growled again and hopped up onto the machine, now hovering over the mine. It began to blink rapidly and Keron smirked, waiting about two to three seconds, knowing the mine didn’t blow right away.
“Heh…” He gave Probio a useless punch and stuck his tongue out at him before darting off to the ceiling a small ways away from him. Probio was about to do the same before the mine detonated and sent the machine flying up towards the spikes. Probio, too startled to react, stood there, wondering what the hell as going on. All was going according to plan and Keron smirked wider as he pressed a switch, causing the spikes to distend and erect out, the spiny, sharp, death needles stretching out to at least ten inches. Probio gulped before he made contact with the spikes. Even though made of rock and steel, the spikes’ material was much stronger, a seeming sense of titanium, only reinforced tenfold with an unknown material only Keron knew of and discovered. The spikes penetrated the Probapass’ body in several spots, leaving him to certain death. The machine dropped, leaving the image of the spikes passing through Probio’s now ‘dead’ body.
“SCORE!!” Keron fist pumped with victory, seeing the enemy explode and a bright, digital ’20,000’ appear where Probio once was before disappearing as well. His victory wasn’t long lasted as he suddenly took a spin dash bitch slap to the face from Shaynic. Keron shook his head, feeling dazed from the sudden attack to the side of his head.
“Oww… what the hell was that?” He blinked as he saw the hedgehog spin dashing towards him once more. Keron pulled out his Pistol and prepared to fire before the Shaymin uncurled and jumped up at him at high speeds. Before Keron was able to fire, the hedgehog came in and snatched the gun right out of his paws.
“What the..?!” The Umbreon looked over to see Shaynic aiming the gun right at him. He gulped and quickly jumped away just as the first shot was fired. He continued to run as he was chased by the hedgehog while shot at. He went through his inventory, trying to find something worth using. He found his Minigun and smiled as he pulled it out, already loaded with five hundred bullets.
“Let’s see how you like this!” He kicked a table at Shaynic, who stopped it with his own foot and ducked under it, just barely dodging the Minigun’s bullets shot at him. Keron ran and somersaulted behind the Pac-Man machine and looked out to see if he could get in a shot at the hedgehog. His heart was racing with adrenaline. This was possibly the greatest fun he ever had with a video game!
“That bastard likes taking guns, huh? Let’s see how he likes taking these.” He pulled out a grenade and removed the cored before throwing it at Shaynic’s table. He hid back behind the machine and covered his ears, eyes shut tight. The explosion soon sounded and he slowly poked his head back out to look at the results. The table was charred but still intact.
“DAMMIT!” He exclaimed, throwing out another grenade. This time, Shaynic poked out, grabbed it, and tossed it off somewhere before it exploded. Keron quickly pulled out his Minigun and fired away at the hedgehog. One shot got to the Shaymin before he hid himself again, pulling his paw out to shoot the pistol at his enemy.
Keron yipped and hid himself as well, panting heavily as he had almost taken a shot to his face. “Mother…. fucker… playing with my emotions…” He said between pants.
While Keron was having his own war, Jerry was still clashing at the two swordsmen. He growled and occasionally moved back, allowing the two to slowly try to edge him into a corner. He knew exactly what they were trying to do and saw right through it, jumping back into the wall and wall jumping off. He threw his sword down at the two at a hyped pace and it made contact with Vink’s head. He yelled in pain as the sword went through him, though he simply fell onto his back and the sword was free from his unscarred body. Vink growled and hopped up, looking at the sword that penetrated him… sorta. He took the sword and seemed to somehow easily snap it in two then tossed it to the side. Jerry pulled out a large knife along with a set of small daggers.
“Not as tough as they look.” He said to himself, launching his barricade of daggers at the two males. Jiggly moved left and right to avoid them while Vink easily sliced the daggers away. Jerry looked around to see if he could spot Zang, Pac-Man, or Luca Man. His thoughts then went to where Luca Man went, having not seen him in awhile. “Eh… the less I see these guys, the better.” He told himself as he sprinted forward. Just before he got to Vink and Jiggly, he was thrown back by an invisible force pushing him backwards. “WHOA!! What the hell was that?!” A shining white light blinded his vision for a brief moment before he found Luca Man and Probo Man in front of him.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me…” Jerry sighed, seeing they had to deal with another enemy. “Alright… come at me!” Luca Man smirked and switched weapons before stepping back and throwing a pink ball at him. Jerry easily jumped to the side rather than upwards, knowing all too well about the Rebound Striker.
“Good thing I have all ten Luca Man games at home.” Jerry said to himself before he saw Probo Man strike with Plant Bomb. The four circling, pink petals were flying towards him at a fast pace and Jerry slashed at the attack with his knife, sending it flying back to the Prototype robot thing. Luca Man then blocked the attack with a set of Quick Boomerangs then went in for another attack, readying his Crystal Eye.
Keron panted as he was slowly beginning to run out of ammo. Shaynic was still hiding behind the table, firing bullet after bullet from his Pistol. “Why must it have unlimited ammo?” Keron asked himself as he finally gave in and just jumped out from behind the machine. He let out a battle cry and pulled out a ready grenade. Shaynic yelped as he saw the Umbreon coming for him and was pounced before he could get away.
“Eat grenade, btich!!” He yelled, shoving the grenade down the hedgehog’s throat. Shaynic gagged on the grenade as Keron then kicked him away to another spot before he and the grenade both exploded. Another ’20,000’ for Keron and he smiled.
“Two down, some others to go. Where’s Vink and Jiggly?” He then went to search for Jerry, having seen them together last. Keron went up to the ceiling to search from above, spotting Jerry slicing away at Luca Man and Probo Man while Vink and Jiggly were watching from behind. Keron slowly made his way over to the two behind the robots and he dropped behind them quietly. Sneaking in, he managed to catch Vink off guard and went straight in for the kill. With the snap of his neck, and a very loud and violent pop, snap, and crack, Vink fell to the ground and poofed when he hit it, earning the yellow Umbreon a third ’20,000’. Jiggly gasped and looked up at the unarmed Bre before running in and thrusting his sword forward. Keron jumped back but unfortunately took a slice to his right hind leg.
“Gah! Too slow…” He said to himself, watching Jiggly carefully as he began to fly up into the air. He soon slipped under one of the machines, still keeping his eye on the flying puffball. Jiggly smiled big as he randomly ejected his sword ability, a green star falling off of him with a sword etched into it, bouncing along the arcade slowly and blandly.
“Huh? He got rid of his Sword ability?” Keron blinked at the actions of his enemy but shrugged it off as he then pulled out his Energy Sniper again. He moved along the terrain of the arcade, watching both Jiggly and the Ability Star carefully while trying to aim for the flying target. Jiggly soon let out his puff of air and came down to the ground, plopping off the ground with a small “pop” sound. He looked over and saw Keron aiming at him and slide under one of the machines.
“Grr… he’ll have to come out sometime…” He said as he kept his aim on the game.
Jerry, meanwhile, wasn’t too far away from Keron and Jiggly, dealing with the constant barrage of Solar Blaze, Gyro Attack, Crash Bomb, Oil Slick, and the occasional Thunder Claw. “The fuck is wrong with you two!? Why do you want to kill me?” Neither answered, of course. They just stopped, stared at each other, shrugged, then threw a double set of Wheel and Rolling Cutter at the Bre.
“..!” Jerry didn’t have time to speak nor much time to react. He threw out his knife and smacked around the Wheel Cutters but didn’t react fast enough to block the Rolling Cutters. He took both scissor-like steel cutters to the face and through the chest, falling back and groaning at the hit. He quickly picked himself off of the floor and looked at the two of them. “You two are assholes, you know that?”
Keron fired a shot at Jiggly but missed, unfortunately. He sighed and moved back, pressing his back against the Shaynic Spinball machine. “Alright, Jiggly… now you need to die.” He said, pulling out his Charge Packs again. “And after you’re dead, I’m going to go find Pac-Man or Zang… because these bitches are playing around too much……… literally.”
Meanwhile, Pac-Man was sitting in a dark corner, not far from Keron. He chuckled as he readied another Power Pellet, slowly moving in towards the unsuspecting Umbreon. Zang also came in towards Keron, another guitar in his paws. He smirked alongside his yellow ball… companion… thing. Keron set a Charge on top of the Spinball machine then moved to go place one under the Super Probio Bros. game then one last on the side of Jiggly’s Dream Land.
“That’ll do…” He said to himself as he equipped himself with his spare Pistol. “Bastard stole my gun… and blew up with it in his paws… glad I packed two.” Just then, he heard the slightest foot step and turned his head just to see an electric guitar connect with his face. He yipped and was sent flying into the nearby wall. Pac-Man pulled out his Power Pellet and ate it, taking on his momentary, seeming invincibility. The blue glow came to the two Umbreon and Keron looked up to see Pac-Man mouth engulfing him. With a loud cry, he was eaten whole and nothing but his eyes remained, running around the arcade at high speeds, looking for his ‘spawn point’.
Jerry saw the blue glow around himself as well and he gulped. “Oh shit…” He became useless against his foes, unable to do any battling while in his current status. Luca Man and Probo Man looked at one another and smirked before slashing the Umbreon apart into nothingness.
Moments later, the two Bre appeared at their spawn, their first life lost from… mishaps. “Alright, soldier, now this is going too far!” Keron growled, pulling out Dynamite, Grenades, Charge Packs, and Mines. “They want to play?! We’ll play!” He hopped off and begin throwing this and that here and there.
“Something tells me the game’s over…” Jerry blinked, watching his partner. Not long after, he saw the Umbreon sprinting towards him. “And something tells me… RUN!!” He turned and started to run away alongside Keron. The yellow Umbreon pressed several different switches before the silent beeping of the bombs began to sound.
Just as they made it out of the arcade, the entire place blew into ashes and nothing, leaving the two struggling to keep the door closed and the explosion inside. “Hang on… solider…. Don’t let go… of that damn door..!” Keron warned, pushing against the door as hard as he can.
“I’m trying… but the explosions… are too strong!”
“It’s gonna blast the door! Jump out of the way!!” Keron yowled and pounced off to the side, Jerry doing just the same. The door blasted open and the remaining flames came roaring out, leaving a charred mark on the ground below.
The flames soon faded, leaving small sparks of fire here and there within the long line of black tile from the explosion. Jerry and Keron looked at each other and smiled. “Game over, sir?”
“Game over, soldier. We’re victorious.”
“WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THE ARCADE!??!” The superintendent of the hotel, an Arcanine, came over and saw the charred, destroyed remains of what doesn’t even look like an arcade.
“Almost, sir… we were almost victorious…”
