When Bradley and Kahona were just kids, their parents dissolved their relationship, Bradley was left with his step mother, Kahona went with their father to the UK, to Manchester. They were both too young at the time to know that they shared 23 chromosomes of their father and Bradley had no memory of his original mother who died in childbirth. While Kahona had it decent, Bradley and his mother were just getting by. Knowing that he was too young to work by California law, Bradley got involved with some unsavory types to help out, he had a knack for being a cat burglar, and could scrap too. Sometimes he competed in wager matches, as it was easier and less risky to win. He hated school, particularly math, with a passion and did only enough to get by in what he believed was a system designed to fail as many students as possible. He and the principal were well acquainted, sometimes with a shiner on his eyes. Bradley liked the rougher rock and roll music, spiked leather wristbands and band tees were a part of his wardrobe. Thinking the GED was a cop out, he made a little more effort to get a diploma out of high school, by excelling in the history class.

Some weeks later, he was noticed scrapping with another, using moves like the full nelson and suplex on his opponent, by a passing wrestling federation recruitment agent. He was offered a contract as a dark match jobber at first, but despite losing, he began to gain fan attention and eventually was allowed to win on occasion. This "Alley Cat" soon started appearing on t shirts and had small action figures made of him.

Halfway across the world, Kahona was a prodigy, A's across the board, numerous academic awards, and graduated high school with perfect attendance, dean's list and briefly, honor roll. For college, he got in on part of an exchange program to California, unknowingly moving to the same streets his own half brother prowled. He liked some of the alternative rock in America but liked pop more, his favorite popstar was known as Klace and went to all the local concerts in the Manchester and nearby provinces. His every day dress even emulated the way Klace dressed with half jackets, fishnet shirts, long striped gloves and stockings and tight form fitting material shorts.

One night, while studying and eating dinner in the student lounge, the tv was showing local wrestling, and Alley Cat was on the t.v. Kahona knew wrestling, but had never really watched it before, though he started to like the wrestler calling himself Alley Cat, though he couldn't explain why, maybe it had to do with most males having short hair, but Alley Cat's was long, and like his own was jet black, but with pink, blue, and green highlights. He had long gotten the tips of his bangs highlighted just like Klace, but he went in to get the tips of his hair in the back highlighted just like Alley Cat's was.

One weekend, he was out seeing the city, and passed by a Red Cross Blood Bank. Curious, he went inside to see what it was all about, he decided to try it. After filling out a long list of questions, he was taken into a room and had a blood sample taken to test the iron content and his blood pressure. Passable, he was led out of the room and set in a chair next to someone else that he couldn't really see due to the chair positioning. The phlebotomist left to go on break, and a phlebotomist just coming on took his file, but she went to the next seat and said "ok Kahona, are you allergic to iodine?" "No" came the response but then "my name isn't Kahona." The girl said "aren't you Mr. Correia?" To which was answered "yes, but my first name is Bradley." This piqued Kahona's curiosity and he looked over "my name is Kahona Correia" which made both the phlebotomist and Bradley look over. Now able to see who was in the seat next to him, Kahona's lower jaw dropped "A..alley Cat!" Bradley blinked "so you've watched me on television eh, nice to meet a fan of the sport."

The phlebotomist smiled and turned their chairs so they sat facing the same direction and went to get the blood bags, vials, sterilizing agents, iodine swabs, gauze and a bandage wrap. Kahona and Bradley were talking when she came back and handed them their files "please read me these bar code numbers as well as state your names and birthdates." Bradley read his first as his arm was being sterilized and winced as the needle to draw his blood was inserted, then Kahona read his as his arm was sterilized and flinched, when his was inserted. Squeeze balls covered in paper towels were put into their hands and they were told to gently squeeze every few seconds. Fifteen minutes later, two phlebotomists came over, cut the blood off from going into the bag and started filling the four vials each of them had and tied off the small hoses that was carrying their blood. The needles were then removed, gauze placed on the phlebotomy sites and wrapped in solid red bandage wrap.

The two unknowingly related males walked to the canteen, where they were required by law to be there for at least fifteen minutes. As Kahona ate cookies with a soft drink, Bradley had granola bars and cranberry juice. Just as they were getting ready to leave, the first phlebotomist that had gotten them mixed up said "please wait you two, we have your blood type cards here for you." She went to get them and handed Bradley his and Kahona his. "There is more that you need to see for yourselves." We have a blood sequencing machine so we can tell that you both are O positive blood that day, instead of having to wait for the lab to do that, but it also shows us something else." She led them to the room now that the blood samples had been moved to cold storage for transport and indicated the computer screen. On the left is you Bradley, and on the right is you Kahona, but watch what happens when I overlay the DNA sequences of you two." She tapped a few keys and the two images moved together, several of the lines matched up and 50% match started blinking on the screen. "You two are brothers, half brothers technically." Bradley was dumbfounded, but Kahona was excited and hugged Bradley tightly, his favorite wrestler was his long lost brother.

The original artist is unknown, I cannot make out the signature below Kahona's left leg.

I popped this story out on the fly, so I hope it isn't too cliche.
