I like those background colors. The pink seems to add a lot.

Awesome! I was actually going with traditional book cover colours. Gold, brown, and that quirky green. The pink then pops out of the brown because of the contrast, cause really it's more of a rusty orange than anything. :D

The colors came through very nicely on the digtializing.

Although I was sure that this picture was going to be a green earth pony.
