After seeing the Alola Form releases I decided to go to my favourite pokemon and give it an Alola Form overhaul complete with new look, colour scheme, backstory, dex entry, typing, abilities and power focus.

First off, we have the type, Alola Form makes the Shinx line Electric/Water similar to Chinchou and retains the ability Intimidate while now gaining Drizzle and the hidden ability Competitive. This gives them a new special attack focus while also granting entry rain to set up some nasty Thunders.

Next we have the colour scheme, going from a nice blue/black with yellow highlights we now have a darker and stormier tone, the grey signifying the stormy skies and the dark blue the churning waves, the peeking blue is the blue sky slowly fading to the grey, the yellow tones are much brighter to show vibrant flashes of striking lightning from the storm clouds. As Shinx evolves into Luxio then Luxray the colours grow darker and moodier with Luxray showing a roiling storm. Overall, the Shinx line looks rougher and scruffier as they are much wilder and untamed compared to their Sinnoh counterparts.

Backstory: Shinx were imported from Sinnoh a few 100 years ago, at first Alolans loved the small feline Pokemon but some noted their colouration was fading, turning from blue to a shade of grey. It was one fateful night when one imported Shinx who had lived in the wilds of Alola had evolved into a Luxray, it let out a bellowing roar into the midnight sky which awakened most of the island it was on. At first most shrugged and went back to sleep but rain started to fall, the winds picked up and then a crack of lightning illuminated the blackened sky. Alola calls this day, "Ke aumoe ino", the Midnight Storm. The next day Alola was battered by the worst tropical storm in its recorded history. After discovering what had caused it, all Shinx line were banished from the island to an uninhabited one to live out in the wild away from mankind and they began to be feared by Alolans as the harbingers of fierce tropical storms.

Shinx, the Drizzle Pokemon
Sun: Brought to Alola over 100 years ago, these small pokemon now roam the island wilds in small packs, upon letting out a roar they create a localised rainstorm.
Moon: Imported from Sinnoh over 100 years ago, they were once kept as pets until a storm broke out and they were relocated to an uninhabited island.

Luxio, the Thundering Pokemon
Sun: Their darker colouration shows their Alolan origins, when angered they can let out a might roar and bring fierce thunderstorms to the region.
Moon: Fierce territorial, Luxio guard their pack from human and Pokemon alike, when in danger they can create thunder from seemingly nowhere.

Luxray, the Storm Pokemon
Sun: Considered by Alolans to be an ill omen upon seeing one, their roars can cause tropical storms and bring untold destruction.
Moon: A mythical Alolan legend, spoken only of as a warning, upon seeing one and hearing their roar the region is quickly battered by tropical storms.
