uh, yeah lol...i improved on the previous versions and these are as far as i'm concerned the final designs. tweaked breeze a lil more and now she looks better.
but anyway these are my designs of what sonic's parents might look like. i tried to make them look distinct but at the same time very similar to their son.
sonic's dad gale was a pretty famous fighter pilot, he did a lot of notable stuff throughout his military career, to the point where he's hailed as a war hero in the islands he lives in (south island, christmas island, etc.) and across the rest of mobius as well. gale was very charming and charismatic and got along with practically everyone he meets (like a certain speedy blue hedgehog) and has a will of iron. admittedly he was a bit egotistical lol. (much like sonic! winkwink) gale was grounded guy and desired to live a peaceful life on south island and raise a family after he was finished with the air corps. unfortunately his life was tragically cut short when he was killed in action, leaving breeze and her son to take care of themselves.
his plane, the tornado, ended up under his son's ownership at one point or another after his death. the emblem on his flight jacket actually matches the one on the aircraft. (gaaasssp!!)
sonic never really knew his dad or really met him--any memories of him are very vague at best. gale was off in the air corps during his childhood years so he only knows him through accounts of his exploits, memorabilia, etc.
then there's sonic's mother, breeze. she was a pilot also (both of his parents worked in aviation lol--that's why he knows how to fly a plane) but unlike gale she worked in air mail. she'd fly around the islands delivering packages, letters, what have you. however since she met and married gale she left her job to settle down a little and raise her son. and then of course he died. as a result breeze went back into air mail again to support her and sonic.
in contrast to gale, who like i said before sonic never really knew, he was very close to his mother. the two loved each other deeply and unrelentingly. indeed, out of both his parents sonic took after his mother the most, both appearance wise (he's almost the spitting image of her) and personality wise. breeze was very free spirited and full of life. unlike her husband gale she was never content with staying on south island and preferred to go out and see the world. however unlike gale or sonic she was introverted and was generally quiet around strangers.
breeze loved nothing more than to feel the wind in her fur when she would be flying her plane. she loved the crap of her job and would even take sonic out on her delivery flights sometimes, which cultivated his love of adventure. she also encouraged sonic's super speed.
the two loved each other so much that they even made a promise that they would leave south island and see the world together. it really was very sweet.
and then breeze was snatched up by eggman and subsequently roboticized and killed. sonic was incredibly torn up over his mother's death and grieved terribly over her. today it's been alleviated and he's gotten over it since, but sometimes the old feelings come rushing back. anyway the death of his mother played a pivotal role in sonic's life. he was still intent on keeping the promise of seeing the world to breeze, even after her death, so that's what he did.
