Character Description
Perhaps a little clueless regarding other people's feelings she likes the idea of friendships rather than what it entails. She likes to be alone and get into a good book and bosses Lock around in her place. She can be rather pleasant and friendly but her idea of humor can be kind of cruel. She likes to keep her feelings to herself and distract people with smiles but to be honest she needs friendship in her life. She likes to pretend she's an evil witch plotting someone's downfall but often loses interest quickly. She can be very hard working if it's something she's interested in but otherwise she has no time for the silly idea. She loves wet weather and hates wearing shoes and gloves.
Personality
Petal is an outwardly pleasant and friendly person but can be selfish and naughty behind closed doors. She often doesn't let it show if she's upset and holds grudges. However, she plays with the idea of being evil in a rather childish fashion. She ultimately means no harm but she has a sense of humor most would find invasive and cruel. She's not good at friendships and has a very basic point of view regarding conflict. She loves poetry and fantasy novels but has little interest in television. She is bouncy but not hyperactive. She likes to relax on her own a lot and she can be a hard worker even if she spends more time planning than doing. This is especially true of her garden. She likes drama perhaps a little too much and enjoys watching people live their lives. She's often not on the same level when others are upset and compares it to her own minor problems like it's no big deal rather than being understanding. She often bosses Lock around but she's the brains of the outfit in here.
Likes/Dislikes
likes books, customers, the rain and her outfit, dislikes sunny weather, being told she smells and having to cover her hands and feet.
Background/History
Petal used to live in the forest with her family but after she found a discarded book moved to Diegoltun to find out more. Now she owns the local Bookstore and she couldn't be happier.
Relatives/Family
Petal's family live in the forest. She often visits them alone.
World/Setting
The Valhalor world is a mixture between real-world, fantasy and sci-fi settings with the second item being a more dominant factor. There are 8 islands in Valhalor, 5 of which are divided into multiple countries. Many years ago there was a war between the Dozers of Meka Island and the Yovans of South Island, which resulted in Valhalor being divided into 2 warring alliances. Monsterville is a country in South Island that is strongly fantasy themed, though Olrit county in particular is very much modern day. Monsterville is mostly forested and has a European look. It's home to a lot of unusual wildlife and often hazardous kinds. Diegoltun City is the main setting for the Monsterville game which this character is from. The city has a wide range of businesses from shops, craft works and restaurants to offices, entertainment and tourist attractions. There are also several smaller villages around Diegoltun and the city itself is sat next to a much larger city known as Olrit.
Body
mostly she's green in color with a large red flower head that looks like a dress. Her nose, hands and legs are yellow as well as some tendril like strands that look like whiskers and a fringe. She has red eyes and petals that make her ears and the whites of her eyes are green.
Clothing
she wears a white t-shirt, blue sandals and a blue apron very much akin to outdated children's wear.
Accessories
She can often be found carrying a large unwieldy bag full of books.

Often wrongly identified as the Thrift Store, Petal runs the Bookstore in the Boatroad District. Her creation is a long and winding road since the very beginning of Monsterville. As soon as the idea of combat was envisioned there was a plot involving savage plants and a community of plant golems but it was rewritten many times as was the central plant golem character. After many iterations we have this nice but highly typical plant character. However the name Petal did not come about by obvious means. "Pet-ull" as a first name sounds like an obvious choice for a plant character but "Pet-arl" as a surname might raise an eyebrow with Albion fans out there. Madam Petal and Monsieur Petal are the cofounders of the infamous Petalfeather Holdings asylum and prison. Said place features in the Monsterville game but you have to do something very specific to wind up there. The owners of the Bookstore before this character arrived was Mr. Blacke and Mrs. Petal. After the game went through heavy renovations Lock Burrow who worked for the Bookstore was your guide in the mission involving fighting the monster plants. One such monster plant was a Rose which grabbed Lock that you had to defeat to free him. Even though they were made by fusing many of the plant golem characters this character was heavily influenced by the rose that grabbed Lock. Having no owner for the Bookstore at the time she was made into the owner as a nod to Lock's involvement in the monster plant mission. It also meant that the name Petal could be preserved as a name.

this character had some lovely designed petals but when we had to find some appropriate clothes for her all that hard work was covered up and now you don't get to see it. such a shame
