Changeling queen designs for a certain pony RP. Our Chrysalis player opened up the idea of Chrysalis being the evil and ugly one amongst a set of sisters, and here we are years later and I'm finally going to draw the ones I don't play myself! I might also draw their primary disguises but that's a story for another day.
Elytra:[image link] The youngest sister, specializing in stealth, intel, and other black operations. Her hair is actually white; she uses a bright pink dye as a sort of rebellion against the bullying she's received. She lacks a crown because she doesn't currently control her own hive, serving as Chrysalis's lieutenant and frequently breaking her out of trouble. "Elytra" are the coverings on the wings of beetles such as ladybugs.
Exuvia:[image link] Intentionally designed to look as nerdy as possible, Exuvia whistles through her teeth on all of her "s" sounds, including that in her own name. She is a genius, but not a talented mage herself; she is more of a sage and works with "science" moreso than magical artifacts. "Exuvia" are the shed-off exoskeletons of molting insects.
Ambrosia:image link The most pony-friendly of the queens, Ambrosia has managed to create a biracial utopia and frequently quests to replicate this achievement throughout Equestria. She is Celestia's and Luna's favorite queen due to her kind, polite demeanor and her excellent skills in the kitchen. "Ambrosia" refers to some beetles' use of fungi to grow food stores.
Vespa: (description once drawn) "Vespa" is a genus of wasps.
Chrysalis: You know who Chrysalis is. Our Chrysalis player makes it much more clear that she is extremely jealous and that this motivates most of her schemes.
Cerci: (description once drawn) Along with being a pun on the witch Circe, "Cerci" are the horrifying jaws on the backsides of certain insects such as earwigs.
