This is a concept art of a Zonizan soldier. In Zoniza, no soldier fights without a mask, because the one they wear during war times, the "Gate of Bloodlust" is the medium that channels their rage, making it burst and giving them strenght in battles.
When a Zonizan soldier wears the Gate of Bloodlust during wars, everything the soldier does is legal, including killing other Zonizans, because their deaths won't be vain, but will serve the purpose of the Sacred Six, a principle the Zonizans firmly believe. Wearing it during peace times instead, is strictly forbidden, and another mask should be worn, the "Gate of Order" which is painted in gold.
The features of soldiers are mostly hidden by the mask, only a small part of their body is exposed (the chest, the arms and part of the legs, along with the tail) making the individuation of the race tricky, if not difficult.
The boots are a traditional Zonizan craft, made in hardened leather with iron heels, leaving the toes exposed. The soldier depicted in the picture is an Anu'Dar Zonizan.
