If you wanted to describe Dennis with one word, it would be geeky.
The cub never played a sport, or even many video games. He had an odd upbringing, in part, becase his parents didn’t have much time to spend with him, but were still responsible enough to block 90% of the TV channels.
Because of this, the skunk ended up with a big love for useless knowledge, history, and a fascination for megalithic monuments. He especially liked mysterious constructions, be it the pyramids, the Moai of Easter Island and even the Nazca Lines. But the stone circles were his favorite.
Dennis seldom asked for things, and probably that’s why his father allowed him to go with him to England. It wasn’t easy, since it was a business trip, but Dennis was adamant on this. He wanted - scratch that - needed to see Stonehenge, and he was going to. Sadly, while Stonehenge was just two miles west of Amesbury, it was one hundred miles away from Oxhampton.
The skunk spent the first week inside the hostel, until he heard a couple of hikers talk about the stone circle that was three miles south.
The next day, after his father went to work, Dennis took off. He knew his dad would not have let him go on his own, but he was also too busy to take him; so the little skunk walked for three hours until he reached the place. He would have found it faster, but it wasn’t marked.
After having walked for so long he started feeling really tired, so he sat down in the tall grass and dozed off a little before exploring the rocks.
It was the best day ever.
