I had a lot of anxiety when I was a kid..heck I still do as an adult. We have the habit of looking at many things as...a limited time offer...Even our own love, hopes and dreams..like they have an expiration date on them. Every single one of ourselves and situations is unique but we are more alike than unalike in the ways that matter. So stop for a little..think about yourself..think about the people you admire...apply that admiration, not compare. And always remember how far you have come up to this point..not what you can possibly lose. You can't lose what you think it is...it's intangible, beautiful, inspiring, wonderful..it's you... you never lose yourself.

I've actually stopped taking commissions for the time being and try not to make myself too responsible for any further art projects because, well, I think I'm burnt for the time being.  I've been drawing more or less steadily since I was six, and now I'm getting dangerously close to thirty-eight (or, as I like to call it, "my fourteenth anniversary of being twenty-five").  I more or less stopped a few years ago, and I really haven't taken any more commissions since, but maybe I can eventually get myself back into the mindset of drawing once more.  There's still things I want to draw, and I can't trust anyone else to do the art for me.  It just doesn't work like that.

I went back and checked the gallery because I didn't recognize this guy in the (truly beautiful) final piece about Home. I'm glad I did, because this message, while not quite as "important" as the other one about loving yourself, is something I did know I needed right now. I just didn't know it was out there. Thank you for that, friend Doc. Thanks much indeed. n_n
