Adult Blaze: Hair & Tail pt.1
Adult Blaze Concept Art: Clothing
This is part 2 of Hair & Tail for adult Blaze.

Panel 1: The official design displays hair in an up-do, which typically is an elegant hairstyle. The way her hair is positioned upward conveys fire and gives attention to the dark tone ends. Although there is no official art of her hair loose, other artists did base what it will most likely look like based on the strands of her hair. However, two major things immediately bothered me about Blaze's hair. The first is it looks like parrot feathers are attached to her head. When it is loose, it follows the echidna hair too much and not enough like hair.

Panel 2: In Panel 2, I wanted to focus on redesigning Blaze's signature hairstyle. The first change is giving Blaze a thick ponytail to keep the up-do elegance aspect. The next step is the combination of the lion-based trait and the fire element aspect. I thought the best way is to draw some of the strands of her hair loose and floaty like it's dancing in midair. Lastly, is drawing the darker ends like flames to make the style more distinct than before. Initially, I was afraid she would look silly or awful looking, but when combined with her face and thinking about her demeanor, I think it really brings out her personality.

Panel 3: On the left side of Panel 3, I wanted to draw how adult Blaze's hair would look if it was completely loose. I wanted to make sure it looks natural and not something pasted on so I drew a slight volume at the top and did not draw in the line for the top of her head. I kept the loose strands, but made it tamer to display the softer traits of Blaze. On the right of Panel 3, I really wanted to give her super form a stronger presence. Her barrette is completely gone, her hair is longer and wilder; strongly emphasizing fire. I looked at many pictures of fire to capture the right look.

I like your idea here too. It makes more sense to have her hair look like that because ot resembles the appearance of flames, unlike the official art where it looks like quills (I bet that if she lets her hair loose it will look like Amy or Knuckles).
