This is part 1 of of the hair and tail process for Blaze. I was anxious to address these areas of her design because I think the default look didn't properly convey what it's supposed to.

Panel 1: I did a comparison to how Blaze's tail was drawn officially from the concept art and from the final design. From the official concept art, Blaze has an average looking cat tail. However, the final design shows an unusual tip from most cats. The wild tip supposedly conveys relation to fire, but when Blaze transforms into Burning Blaze, there is no change to it. I thought it was very odd for her tail to be designed in such a specific way, yet nothing unique occurs in her super form. I also thought the aesthetic of the tail itself looked electrocuted rather than based on fire so I wanted to redesign it.

Panel 2: In a previous step, I mentioned with my theory of Blaze's mother being a Lilac-Point Siamese cat. With her father, I went with the theory of him being a lion based on how unusual the tip of Blaze's tail is. I thought it is the perfect way to emphasis the aspect of her controlling fire along with the general symbolism of royalty and leadership. I added when Blaze transforms into Burning Blaze, her tail will ignite into a flame. When she is not in super form, it will act as a normal
