I'm thinking that myself, too. Assuming the Changeling is female, she's not taking chances someone would be suspicious of seeing a female guard where all guards are male (with the exception of Paper long time ago who apparently was never figured out to be female).

I think that Changeling is female. The problem here is vavacung makes females and males basically the same, so identifying one isn't too easy. For example, the eyelashes aren't used, meaning females and males have the same eyelashes, making them equally masculine.
