RooFan wanted to see my sweet squirrlette Lily resting in her dream coffin, from my story Love Me Till My Heart Stops (part 1, part 2). I decided to leave it as a pencil sketch because I thought I'd ruin some of the softness of it by inking. Also, whether she's asleep, pretending or passed on is up to the viewer. ;)

This reminds me of a carving by a committed lunatic called "church" (the carving ,not the madman). A figure -with no dress on- in a coffin, with several segmented pillars attached to it. Man was totally insane and has been locked up there for life. This was in a massive collection by Dr. Prinzhorn.
Some of these patients were eventually killed by the Nazis who had no place for the mentally ill in their "perfect world order". Others died in the wards after decades living there."Influencing engines", oarwalking....
I have wondered ... can one examine a work of art and determine from it whether the person was insane or not ?
