When I was sketching the rough version of this in my sketch pad, I was thinking of "what if this was in an anime?" Truthfully, I love series like, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Monster Rancher and several others based a singular theme, fighting and collection. If i had better software and more time to work on animation I would make my own anime. The premise for this would be about a medium level player, the first episode would open with him making a vlog, get that pesky, how to play the game thing out of the way. he'd be talking to the camera but be holding a weird looking game controller with a dome in between the shoulder buttons. then he'd hold up a booster pack of cards. when open the chards are blank except for a bar code. holding the cards under the controller would cause the controller to scan it and what ever was on the card is now in the controllers memory or on a removable memory stick. Red cards would be for special moves, Grey cards would be Gear, orange cards are creatures, and silver cards are random sometimes special cards. the main character would scan the last one and of course get the highly rare and sought after monster in the game, Gun Metal Dragon.

Playing the game would be as such, it would be like mortal kombat or street fighter where out of the selection of your monsters you would pick one, however for this, you would pick 3 monster, 2 gear and 1 special, the special would be shared between the 3 however it would work differently for all of them. and this is where gamers would shine because it's all on how the players do with fighting games. Also the dome in between the shoulder buttons, that would be used as a holographic projector. once both players are ready they begin the match, either from behind, or watching from the side like mortal kombat. that's what i'd hope to make at some point but not likely
