Earlier I stated a desire to specialize each of my art accounts, with Inkbunny receiving content focusing on younger characters in predominantly but not solely clean artwork. Here is one such.
Alcalae is a child genius who, long ago, developed an elixir of eternal youth (the details are a story for another day) and took it quickly in her young folly. She has not aged a day since, and some hundreds of years later now works both to find a cure (the pursuit of which has produced many powerful substances) and to prevent others from discovering the same formula and potentially devastating civilization.
I've been very hard on myself for how slowly I draw and how much difficulty I seem to have, but I've recently come to accept that this is because I always either draw new original characters or significantly adjust existing ones. I'm never sketching a familiar design and always constantly arguing with myself about the traits of a new one. Like right now, Alcalae's bangs (hair over forehead) are still not entirely right, and a lot of time is going to be spent on messing with alternate versions of them.
I'm also very unhappy with my poor sense of body proportion (despite frequently consulting reference charts) - Alcalae doesn't look as childlike as she could. This is partially because of her huge butt (intentional) and partially because I've targeted the 10+ age range which is very close to maturity compared to younger ages. Her head should come up to an adult's shoulder or so.
