Apparently not in this case, since Ian accepted it without even batting an eye (well, so far as can be determined from a still frame)!
(Of course, it's possible Ian's rolling his eyes in the privacy of his own head, but even in that case, that bit of disclosure was apparently not so inappropriate that Ian couldn't conceal it.)

So seems Merry deserve to be kicked out... aaannddd Ian you silly dog, always helpful to mess up things... err I mean always in time for helping out.. *chuckles* >3
Glad to see you have made another nice page of the comic Chucky, keep it up. ^^

Poor Chucky. First his college crush gets kicked out then Dave tries to get him and Ian to be butt buddies. But I know how hard some of that stuff can be. As a truck driver I have to check my truck and trailer every day before I get rolling. And even after nine years I still get surprised by things. You look in your engine block and one day you notice that hose or plug all on it's own. You can think for days and still not remember if it was attached to something or if it was always just an extra bit.

And yeah, maybe a lil' too much info there, Chuckster. 'v' Or at least badly-timed. At least wait until y'all are out at a bar somewhere before you say somethin' like that. ;3

I'm starting to wonder if perhaps Merry had a problem with short and long term memory, rather than just being the type not to do the coursework. The way he described her lack of work in the course made me think of the movie "Memento" where the guy didn't have a long or short term memory, but had to tattoo himself just to keep information straight.

Learning disabilities are certainly a thing. It's easy - all too easy - to dismiss them as disinterest or laziness, but sometimes the real answer is more complicated. Kudos for raising the thought.

There are doubtless some that would say going into such detail about another student's academic performance is violating her [in this case] privacy.
In cases like this, though... A) Chucky already knows she's not entirely with it academically, and more significantly, B) transparency is a hell of a lot better at dispelling notions of malfeasance on the part of the instructors than is silence. It won't always be convincing, but it's a lot more likely to be so than the vague non-statements that seem so popular in some places today...

I thought about that a little. But then, Merry is no longer a student at the college, so Ian can tell Chucky whatever he wants. Ian isn't the type to just blab sensitive information, but since he knows Chucky and Merry were close, he feels Chucky deserves to know the facts. Also, he wants to make sure Chucky knows he isn't the bad guy.

Too true. In this particular case Merry just didn't tell Chucky how poorly she was doing (unless I'm misremembering, she didn't actually tell him she was otherwise doing fine in classes - with so little detail given at all, it's questionable to even call it a lie of omission), but goodness knows it's all too common for a very slanted view of things to be the only one someone gets, whether because of poor perspective or deliberate deception on the part of the one presenting it. And when a seemingly unjust punishment is handed down, the hurt spirals out from there.
(I don't think "no longer a student" would be valid grounds for throwing open her records for all and sundry; severing an existing relationship doesn't automatically invalidate the agreements that applied while the relationship was intact. Confidentiality in particular is sticky that way. But in this case, yeah, revealing these relevant details seems fair, as well as necessary to preserve an appearance of fairness in the staff.)
On a completely different note, it is somewhat telling, I think, that while Merry shied away from an official Relationship with Chucky, she nonetheless gave the impression of one to Ian...

*snickers* is this the part where chucky experiments with being gay and discovers that, while interesting, its most certainly not for him?...or does the poor dragon get some more stains...

This isn't the first time Dave has done something like this around Ian. Check way back to the kumbaiyah session in the early part of the series where he's holding hands with Ian with a grin.

She's cute and all but honestly I don't think Chucky would have been happy with her..especially if he thinks he's being used by her just to get good grades and such. Also she seems a little too airheaded for him and I think he'd get bored of her real fast when they weren't having sex. Also Dave's such a wacko. :) I think he's just playing but it'll be interesting to see what the NEXT reaction by them is. :D
Also..question..is this still going the way you planed it when you first started out or have the characters taken over the story and are writing themselves. ;D

Good thoughts about Chucky and Merry, he's still got some experiencing to do before he realizes something like that.
A lot of the events of the comic are still planned, but the characters have indeed been taking over lately. Which I like, because it's opening up a lot of new possibilities.

Same here. When the characters start to develop their own personalities and really start fighting you on some things you want them to do, that's when you know you're story's gonna be good. It might not be what you THOUGHT it would be but it WILL be a HELL of a lot more interesting and fun to write. :D

There Dave goes again making me wish, but I'm wise to you this time Mr. Chucky Skonk. This is just him lighting up the bro doobie...figuratively of course.

Well I'll keep watching. Usually anything Dave comes up with is a treat all its own. Most friends are like going out to a strip club while Dave is like going skydiving. Into a strip club. And bringing stacks of $100's.

It's the little detail with that foot. Granted, he could be bi or gay, but I think he at least wants to slow things down a little. =P Ian does not strike me as the kind to just "hook-up" with anyone, regardless of gender.
