There have been very few games that have made me feel like a total scumbag for defeating an adversary, Bioshock is one of those games. The rush of defeating a Big Daddy was immediately crushed and negated as the grieving wail and cries of a Little Sister followed lamenting the dead of her guardian. It was one of those rare moments were a violent action in a game is something that near us to our goal but also a source for regret.
Fortunately you soon realize that the Little Sisters are unwilling tools, made prisoners and given a jailer in the form of the Big Daddies to ensure they continue being ADAM collectors. Saving them all and restoring their humanity was one of the most rewarding endings I've had in a game as well.
This tribute piece goes out to everyone who was a former member of Irrational Games and worked on this wonderful game.
THis is perhaps one of (if not my very favorite) modern-day next-gen-released video games! It takes the idea of a video game and amplifies it so overwhelmingly into a proverbial artistic statement. IMHO, playing any Bioshock game isn't just playing a video game... its living through a sublime poignant experience of masterful craftsmanship and incredible story-telling. I think its unique how one can either choose to save or harvest all the little sisters, discovering alternate endings based on whatever choice you make in the long run. Plus the numerous amount of subtle connections between Infinite and both parts 1&2... its astonishing!!! I commend 2K/Irrational Games in having created such an enduring work of brilliance for us avid gamer-types. :3
You did a wonderful job in conveying all the little Big Daddy details! Spot-on work with his bio-suit. Those bullet-holes add a lot of emphasis to the scenario overall as well. I can sympathize for that Little Sister, having just lost her Mr. B. :'/ You nailed the lighting in this piece quite accurately. All in all, I'd say this is just very well-drawn! 8D Kudos for sharing. <3

Thank you very much, I'm very glad you enjoy the pic and thanks for the awesome comment. Full disclosure, I'm yet to play other games in the "Shock" universe and this one I played years ago but creating this pic was something I've been yearning to do since but never got around it until now due to lack of free time to do so/ lack of artistic ability at the time. If I find the time to play the other games in the series I will. FYI: the other games that made me feel like a scumbag: Shadow of the Colossus and Spec Ops: The Line.

Shadow!? Ha... yeah, I can feel you there. XP First real game that truly rendered me into shivers of sublime emotion. Haven't tried SpecOps yet though... I know Dishonored and Heavy Rain both stirred me emotionally with their endings, especially following more destructive playthrough paths with both titles. :S
That's awesome that you were given the time and opportunity to have at this piece though! I'd say that time spent in yearning to draw your perception of one of the gaming world's most memorably heart-rendering sequences paid off in full. ;)

Originally they weren't gonna have the good ending. Only the harvest one. But if I recall, the higher ups made them put it in. Sometimes, executive meddling is a good thing.
