It starts off as a Grass/Flying seedling, but once you max out this pokemon's Toughness, it'll evolve into Fighting/Flying Mayplunge. Maypleep is more geared toward using Special moves, while Mayplunge's stats set it up for physical attacks. Maypleep is faster, while Mayplunge is all-around bulkier, though not enough to really be effective as a wall or a staller. While Mayplunge does learn a large number of effective techniques, there are several Grass-type moves that are exclusive to Maypleep that give incentive to hold off on evolution.
As an alternate mode of evolution in games where Toughness isn't a feature, Maypleep could also evolve into Mayplunge through holding any of the EV growth items (such as Macho Brace) while being traded, similar to how Feebass can evolve into Milotic either through maximizing Beauty or trading with a Prism Scale.
