Alchemedis the Raichu sporting his favorite trap scarf, a utility belt, and a pair of modified x-ray specs. Say hello to the ever cautious, somewhat awkward, and always happy to help leader and founder of the exploration guild, Lightning Beacons.
Alchemedis is a Raichu of a slightly darker and browner fur color than normal. Other than this he is much like any other Raichu. He is 2'06'' and weighs about 65 lbs. The thunderbolt on the end of his tail wire is a bit larger than normal, as are his ears and feet. He has large blue eyes which play a large role in his choice of color when it comes to clothing. He always wears his scarf, gloves, and glasses when he goes out. Indoors he takes off the scarf and gloves but the glasses usually stay on his face. When he does remove them he still will occasionally press a paw over his nose in an effort to adjust them.
Personality
Alchemedis is a generally determined individual who does not like to quit on his goals. He'll often try the most odd and obscure things to reach his goals if he cannot accomplish them in a more traditional sense. Living his dreams, he is usually a very upbeat individual. He is empathetic to a fault at times. He's not very energetic if he is not out on a mission and is not really into partying. However, he does still enjoy spending time with friends and will put himself out of his comfort zone as long as he is able to enjoy his time with them. He really likes to keep himself groomed and looking nice but his standards are fairly simple to maintain. He tends to overthink far too much and often struggles to act or express himself as a result.
Likes/Dislikes
Alchemedis loves exploring, either by himself or with others, it is one of his favorite things to do. He also enjoys hot baths, spicy food, and massages. A personal hobby of his is to create maps of places he has seen or explored. He is generally fond of quiet areas and shies away from very large gatherings if he can help it. His favorite color is blue.
He doesn't care for fighting. He's not violent and even his attacks and battle strategies seem to be targeted at disarming and escaping rather than causing real harm to anyone he might face. The sight of a serious injury causes him physical weakness.
Background/History
Alchemedis founded the guild during his days as a Pikachu. From early in his life he had a fascination for finding new things. The unknown always struck him as exciting and tempting. He would face it every chance he got and overtime began to document his finds for personal reasons. This habit led to him to discover that his growing wealth of knowledge was valuable to exploration and rescue teams alike.
Over the years, he began selling his talents to those who desired them and soon he established a name for himself. As word of his services spread, others with similar interests began to meet and work with him. He soon found himself part of an official exploration team, The Beacons. His team continued to grow in both size and knowledge until the funds gathered by their efforts opened the door to more possibilities. After some discussion with his team, they registered as a guild of explorers known as the Lightning Beacons. They used their funds to establish a headquarters on the edge of the village they often hosted their operations from. As the original founder of the exploration team that started it all, Alchemedis was voted in as the Guild Leader. With new member fees and commissions steadily being taken, the guild has prospered.
Alchemedis may be the leader of his guild, but he does not let his position influence the way he handles himself with his team. He rarely flaunts his status as leader, and only demands respect of his title when there is business to attend to. This lenient method of leadership has proven to be an effective method for leading guild members to seek out various forms of information. By allowing their desires to guide them, rather than the pressure to adhere to specific agendas, the guild has become a wealth of resources to explorers seeking information of all kinds.
Despite having an entire guild to aid him, Alchemedis prefers to explore alone. He enjoys the thrill of being the first to discover something never before known or seen. He relishes in the feeling that comes with being the voice that will present new knowledge to the world. In his most selfish moments, he may even withhold information that he feels others should not become aware of. When he does this, he cannot help but feel a bit of superiority in the belief that only he is aware of such a thing in the entire world. Alchemedis only assigns a team to accompany him when he has reason to believe an exploration will lead to significant and unavoidable danger.
While he may often explore solo, Alchemedis is not particularly battle hardened. He depends on his wit rather than his strength to succeed in his ventures. Years of practice have made him very adaptable and he seems to have solutions to just about any situation. Whether it’s claiming victory in a scuffle or finding a quick escape with the prize in hand, he depends on his creative mind to see him through to success in his missions. When victory does manage to elude his grasp, he always makes sure to plan out his failures ahead of time for maximum damage control.
Relatives/Family
Alchemedis has a mother who lives in a dense jungle far to the south of where he now resides. She lives with his step father who is the father to his younger sister. He never got truly acquainted to his sister due to beginning his career shortly after she was born. His biological father vanished when he was very young. There is not much known about Al's family since he does not talk much about them. Perhaps in an effort to keep them separated from his potentially dangerous life.
World/Setting
Alchemedis lives in a Mystery Dungeon style world of Pokemon where humans do not exist in his reality. This world is probably closest to that of Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.
Body
Alchemedis is a Raichu of a slightly darker and browner fur color than normal. He has large blue eyes. Other than this he is much like any other Raichu. He is 2'06'' and weighs about 65 lbs. The thunderbolt on the end of his tail wire is a bit larger than normal, as are his ears and feet. He always keeps the fur on the top and back of his head brushed nicely if he can help it.
Clothing
Alchemedis always wears his scarf, gloves, and glasses when he goes out. Don't be fooled though. His scarf is a handy item found in a mystery dungeon known as a trap scarf. His glasses are not meant to make up for any diminishing vision but rather are a custom pair of x-ray specs he has become very fond of. He usually won't take them off. His gloves are only for show but do provide additional grip.
Accessories
Alchemedis wears a utility belt where he keeps all his items organized and ready for immediate use. He upgraded to this after experiencing a bad situation where he was unable to find a special orb quickly enough.
