Character Description
Like the others, Tourmaline is a genderless (Female looking) Gem. Though despite that, Tourmaline has always seen itself as a male rather than a female. So basically Tourmaline goes as a "HE".
Personality
Tranquil and calmed, relaxed and intellectual but with a cool attitude on him. While talking he likes to be objective though he can also be sarcastic from time to time, with good intentions always nevertheless. Lover of peace and quiet. A passionate reader and lover of martial and beauty arts; if he's not reading or listening some music, he's training.
Tourmaline is an elegant and cool fighter. Battling with punches, kicks and flourished slices and stockades from his Rapier. Despite that, if bothered, he can turn into a savage beast.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes: Piece and quiet, justice, the planet, being in silence, eating (Like Amethyst he LOVES to eat)
Dislikes: Noisy and annoying people, being taken out of whatever he's doing.
Background/History
5,000 years ago there was a war on Earth, though Tourmaline was young and couldn't participate. Nevertheless, several years after he was sent as part of a retrieve party to capture and return four traitors to the Homeplanet. While facing them, Tourmaline managed to understand what they four were defending and turned against his companions trying to convience them into letting Garnet, Rose, Amethyst and Pearl go.
The ones that joined the four now earth defender Gems had to fought those who weren't turned. In the end only a few survived and Tourmaline, wounded but proud stayed for a while with the other four for a long time. Centuries passed and whitin that time, Tourmaline, pretty much like Pearl grew tired of Amethyst's behavior but was able to stand her. Yet when Rose fell in love with a human, the younger Gem decided it was time for him to see the world by himself.
Years later he heard that Rose was no more amongst them and that her son was carrying her gem now. He returned to Beach City to meet him and to remember the old days. Though he still lives in the city, he does not lives in the temple since he thinks he won't be able to endure Amethyst's behavior for so long. Nevertheless pays visit often, not only to see and help training young Steven but also to interact with others of his species.
Relatives/Family
All his family was left at Homeplanet, but he now considers Steven, Garnet, Pearl and even Amethyst as part of his family too.
World/Setting
He lives in Beach City on Steven Universe's world. Despite that, he lives not so close to the temple, and instead, on the other side of the city.
Body
He is neither tall nor short, he's more like average. His skin is pink redish and also has crimson messy hair. His eyes are red and had wide pupils. Tourmaline has his gem on the palm of his left hand.
Clothing
Tourmaline wears a crimson hoody jacket with a star on the back and grey foldings and hood. He also has a set of deep crimson pants and a set of rock-star-like boots.
Accessories
He carries with him his Rapier inside his gem. The rapier itself sports a purple-ish gem he recently attached to it and has the ability to create a shadow replica of itself that can cut when used.
