@CaffeFanatic and me where talking about sonic looking similar to shadow and she mentioned this idea xD i always thought shadow was a half clone of sonic, based up with sonics DNA and created using black dooms blood.
but thats just a headcannon uvu i like shadow to be just another hedgehog too but i always thought that was an interesting idea that would fill in a lot of plotholes that weren't closed lol
Shadow's just another hedgehog created to help cure Maria's illness and possibly others if successful but G.U.N. ruined everything ;^; I think his awesome powers were added to protect Maria and maybe the name "Ultimate Life Form" came into play because his meant to save lives by protecting and curing them! :O

idk i guess i came up with the idea that shadow was based off sonic or at least made via something to do with sonic since gerald has been shown to have been researching their world, (aka artifical chaos) if he is going to make an articial being of something from that world, why not make another? don't use the sonic wasn't alive card,they age slower in their world than that of the human world.
that line of shadows on Sa2 always made me wonder too, when shadow goes " sonic, i think i know what the ultimate life form is, it might be you!" maybe it's a slight hint to it. they seemed to be pulling the, sonic and shadow look so similar it's hard to tell them apart card even though they where obviously different, i felt like they where going somewhere with that but dropped it probably to make way for ALIENS xD

I'm not sure where I read this but someone mentioned that Gerald Robotnik saw inscriptions on Angel Island that predicted the appearance of Super Sonic in the future and that inspired him to design Shadow as he is. I'll look for the link but yeah in a way I guess he kind of is. Either way I like this head canon :D

I remember reading somewhere that shadows spines stick up because he was modeled off of an echidna prophecy mural of super sonic. Gerald seeing the mural when he was researching the chaos emeralds.
so like, even though sonic wasnt born yet, shadow was based off him. I forget if this is purely theory or implied canon tho.

...if that were the case of Shadow obtaining Sonic's blood or DNA rather wouldn't that either make them brothers, or Sonic's son...e3e...? I mean how would that work exactly? I mean it's like saying I'm going to take my DNA with someone elses and create a creature with it. I'm pretty sure that would be saying I just had a daughter or a son even without the "birthing" part... But at the same time others could consider it brother like because siblings have the same DNA.

it's not like a son in that aspect this might help you understand http://www.majordifferences.com/2013/02/difference-bet... and siblings don't have the same DNA excatly, they have different makeups of similar DNA shared in their mothers and fathers. shadows if taken from sonic as a clone would be made up of sonics DNA structure, no alterations apart from in the incerception of black dooms blood. *why shadow has abilites and strength slightly different from sonics, and colour alteration*
basicly gerald would of had to have begun with a genetic makeup for a mobian hedgehog, before even being able to create him with blackdooms blood, it's impossible to create something without a DNA structure, blackdoom being an alien, makes no sense why blackdoomsDNA structure would of made him look like that.
