Art by the wonderfully talented longtail4711 of the final event of Purgatorio, chapter 12.
Commissioned this a bit ago and the wait was most certainly worth it. Here we have Gildedtongue's own wedding day aboard the ore hauler Purgatorio with her husband Thallon Rosefur, the fox'taur, and Saldura Holbock, the badger. The ceremony was witnessed by the ship's crew of 140 including the Maid of Honour, Susan Labs, the Winsar Rat, and the Best Man, Doctor Terry Wu. Her son, Dominic Wu, bore the rings in the ceremony, three bands of interwoven threads of Copper (Thallon), Silver (Saldura), and Gold (Gildedtongue). The ritual was overseen and made legal by the Captain of the Ship, Matilda Jefferson.
This would be a post ceremony photograph of the major attendees of the wedding. Gildedtongue looks very, very pleased, as do most of the others. Thallon and Dominic on the other hand, could probably do without the stiff duds they've got on.
Again, lovely, lovely pic by Longtail. I like the fact that this definately shows the size differences between the group (Gildy's tall for a chakat at 5'9") so, just to show you, many chakats are kinda shrimps.
The green dress is very good. Seems odd that three of the party are humans. The bride being a chakat was not obvious as her rear legs were almost hidden.

Somewhere on the 'net is or was a text account of the chakats -origin,nature,etc. and the worsening relations with humans. An artificial species or group of species. I do not know how to find it now.
That the marriage is being solemnized on a starship is appropiate because I recall they colonized an alien planet.
