The novel I read while waiting for my train in Toledo was Mrs. Frisby & The Rats Of NIMH. About halfway through, I realize I couldn't go on any longer without trying to draw her. And despite not having any references, I think this is the best rendition of her I've yet done.

And yes I have a thing for mousiefeet. Blow me. ;)

Hey, I have a thing for mousie feet, too (and other species as well). A very nice pic, especially considering the lack of reference. I can make one suggestion for improvement, though; the shape of Mrs. Brisby's head is just a little off. (It reminds me of Foxglove of Rescue Rangers.) Still, a really good pic!

Yeah, I tend to have a set way I construct heads and it's pretty difficult to get away from that. It's usually a matter of 'bending' a character's look around my drawing style.
