That green monster being 'Envy'.

For my watchers not familiar with aviation, a 'first solo' is when a pilot-in-training operates an aircraft by themselves for the first time. It represents the first major milestone of competence and confidence for anyone learning to fly. On this page, Adam has reached that milestone while Chucky is still struggling. A great moment for Adam, but a punch in the gut of reality for Chucky.

I hope this "celebration" doesn't turn into something else..but defiantly Adam
should be happy..he's crossed a MAJOR bridge and deserves to enjoy it. :)

On the other side, I'm sure Chucky will get it..he just needs to clear his mind
of his "other" problems and he'll be soloing in no time. :D

Also your storytelling and use of body language are just getting better and better.
Especially with Chucky. ;D

Question on picture continuity: in the first panel dude has a pencil on his ear, by third panel it is gone. What's with the pencil, if he just came back from a flight test?

Gotta write stuff down when flying, weather, taxi instructions, etc. Adam doesn't normally carry a backpack, just puts a pencil on his ear and carries his stuff. But to address your comment, I usually just forget to draw it half the time.

I can understand why Adam is stoked.
My father was an IP for the Army and I'd say a good 75% of his students had similar reactions when they stepped into the pilots' area after getting out of the helicopter. [It's a bit unsafe to jump for joy on the tarmac.]

Back in the good ol days, your first solo was in a haphazard amalgamation of vaguely plane like parts attached to a vickers motor carriage engine, and instead of crosswind, you had the Luftwaffe.
