They want me to dress so fancy when I work in the dust. There is a great light in the shadows beneath my steps. They enjoy their numbers. I enjoy a distraction. They do too, they just find it hard to show sometimes. Dress pants makes the most curious ruffle against grey floors. Some wish to argue, others enjoy the concept of being right. I enjoy the contemplation of a frictionless environment. They seem to be tiring. I might fasten that tie just a bit tighter. Just a bit.

You definitely said it. =/  Work's a real drudgery.  Especially if you have to deal with people on your job.
Do you really have to wear a tie?

Oh no, they are not so dulled in the mind for such. However business uniforms are mandatory in all departments and areas including my kingdom in the backroom. Where none can peer us but ourselves. Such an odd complex.

I have never liked that policy.
Corporate culture, even in retail, is a strange cult.
Not that I don't like cults, just that it's not a very fun one.

If only they had snazzy uniforms that included an actual face-mask, and silver buttons, it might be cool.  Anything but khakis.

Can't help to think this was somewhat inspired by Kraftwerk's The Robots

Color me odd, but I actually prefer to be dressed like this... well, except for tightening the necktie.  That feels almost like strangulation, and I can certainly do without more of that.
