I've watched live broadcast Sumo match once or twice, It's very entertaining.

はっけよい、のこった! (Hakkeyoi, Nokotta!) Was the sign from referee before and right when they're wrestling, Once two Sumo wrestler put both of his fists onto the ground, the match begin.

Sumo is more than just grabbing opponent's Mawashi (Loincloth belt)and throws opponent out of the ring, and unlike SF4, Sumo wrestler can't just simply smash each other with palms like E.Honda until opponent is K.O.

There's more than plain tactic for achieving victory, One of those various technique is the trick to lure opponent into offensive stance and counter with sway+palm pushing to make opponent losing their body balance and falls to the ground.

Anyway, Sumo is more than just a chubby people sports, It's really fun to watch.

I saw a video of kids training to be sumo wrestlers. I was surprised how skinny they were. Seems it takes a lot of dedication to be a sumo.

There's no restriction on body build, Everyone can practice Sumo, but as the Sumo is one kind of wrestling, bigger people will easily take those advantage in an instant.

Also, Sumo wrestler need to be agile as well as strong, As there's also a technique to use pace against power, So skinny people somehow can take those weakness as an advantage in the same time.

But as far as I see, skinny people won't stand much chance on the tournament, I mean everyone is already a pro and the sames goes for every wrestler, the bigger body the better.

Also there is Sumo's traditional food called "Chanko-nabe" , it's kind of stew hot-pot food which put varieties of ingredients to help Sumo wrestler build their muscle and fatness with protein and calories.

They need to eat this everyday to make their body ready for the incoming training and the matches.
