I admit it; I've got a bit of a spacesuit fetish. Dunno why! I just think toons look super-cute in 'em. Needless to say, that scene in "Out To Launch" where Gadget's floating about in her improvised latex glove spacesuit made mountains of little red cartoon hearts pop out of my head when I was a kid.

Anyway, when I realized I'd never actually tried to draw anything astronautish, I put pencil to paper and gave it my best shot. The background took much more trickery to accomplish than it looks. I tried some new shadow techniques with the suit and did some interesting color fiddling on Gadget's face to make it look like she's behind glass. I'm really, really proud of the overall result. <little red cartoon hearts pop out of head>

Maybe add a reflection streak in the glass? That ought to do it.

You drew this and now all you do is terrible AI crap.

What do you make that's better than AI art?

I'm a pixel art animator, I'm making my own game full of frame by frame animation painstakingly done by me.

Oh, okay, I get it! You don't enjoy how difficult your work is, so you're envious of people who can make images a different way.

Rather than be happy that image creation is now more accessible to lots more people, so lots more art will be created, you're being a salty, jealous bee-yatch.

I'll bet hand-drawn animators felt exactly the same way about CGI animators. They probably think you're making terrible, low-effort trash because you don't have to use reams of paper and sloppy ink.

Legitimate congratulations on your project. But for you to go to someone else's page and be rude to them is so beneath you. Keep your eyes on your work. I use AI art because it's fun to make. Drawing was never fun for me, trying to make my hands behave enough to get the lines to come out right. I like having fun making art. If you think true art requires pain, go for it. But leave me out of your problems.

AI art isn't and will never be valid.

You cannot make any actual arguments.

All of you are like this. I make my case, and then you just repeat the same bumper sticker you started off saying.

Your hate isn't based on anything real. Other people told you to hate this new technology, and so you do, without putting any thought into it. It's so frustrating, because if you were capable of defending your position I'd listen to you.

Instead, you're no different from people who think that 5G towers cause cancer, or vaccines cause autism. You hate a technology because it's popular to hate it.

Remember how everyone hated vaping a few year ago? And then they all shut up once everyone realized vaping wasn't going away? Yeah, that's your future on this issue.

I actually was quite into AI generation when it first came out, but I never took it seriously as a way to make art, because it's not, also vaping is bad aswell, as for the vaccine thing, what the fuck, where did that even come from?

>I actually was quite into AI generation when it first came out, but I never took it seriously as a way to make art, because it's not

I've already seen AI being used for backgrounds in animation. I think it'll be used for coloring and inbetweening too. I've seen it be used for character design ideas. There's innumerable uses for this tool beyond just having the AI do all the work.

Personally, I'm not very good at drawing and I don't enjoy it. But I love editing. I can come up with an idea of something I could never draw on my own, the AI can make the raw image, and I can do touch-up. Boom! Something exists that didn't and couldn't exist before.

My point was just, this technology is here now and it's here to stay. We are going to have to adapt. Being resentful at the change isn't going to make any difference. Technology always changes as we grow older. Nothing stays the same.
