I remember the event quite distinctly.

I lit a candle in the window as did many.

It had been cold, 24℉ high, 10℉ low.

It seemed like the world would freeze that night. . . .

Never forgot that feeling......

John Lennon, Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, George Carlin... all the good ones with the best ideas... gone. I guess that's not entirely true, we still have some left. New ones attempt to fill the void, but they're not exactly the same. Patton Oswalt and Tim Minchin are alright though. Louis C.K. is alright though.

I knew John when he was being a father to Sean, and Sean was in my school for a short while (a stupid ass prerequisite in the NYC School System). Of all the things he had said the one thing that is forever in my mind and I try to pass on to my students:
