Neko Lightning’s weapon accessories

Commissioned set of weapon accessories to accompany a purchased custom pony of Lightning Ferron from the Play Station 3 video game Final Fantasy: Lightning Returns of Lightning in her Neko mimi outfit.

Custom pony already resides with customer, this weapon set will be shipped along with a larger order of FFXIII project customs to join up with Neko Lightning.

This set started off as thick acorn-colored bear hide leather.

Sword- painted the leather, then traced the card stock pattern onto plastic from pony packaging, then sandwiched the leather between the plastic, painted a silver border on outside of plastic. Made a wooden dowel handle for the sword, painted it charcoal black, wrapped white ribbon around the hilt after laying down a layer of glue.
Used thin black patent vinyl for the smaller triangular details at the base of the blade, painted these pieces in various gray and silver acrylics, detail with rhinestones. For red and black pieces on handle, cut the pieces from red and black authentic leather, detailed them in metallic pewter acrylic paint, triangular painted plastic rhinestones on the red piece. Pinned 2 red beads on the hilt with a pin, and wrapped red ribbon around them with a layer of glue. Round beige pearl and painted square rhinestone details to finish.

Shield- cut a circle from the bear hide leather, painted it gray/metallic pewter. Lined it with pale gray strip of leather, then took white leather strip and cut a design along it to glue along the edge of the shield. Drew out patter on card stock for the red pieces, traced the patter onto red leather then cut it out. Detailed these pieces with metallic red acrylic paint and metallic red rhinestones.
Center detail is a red circle of red leather, detailed in gold and metallic black acrylic paint, metallic gold rhinestones. More metallic red acrylic paint detail surrounding the outside of this, round and tear-drop shaped painted rhinestones detailing the circumference of the shield along the edges to finish.

Slightly bent the shield then layered mod podge on the back of it to keep the shape.
