I think this must be some sort of common wish for people who admire or care about someone who's blind, cause I'll admit, I have my own favorite blind characters that I've often fantasized about them finding a way to see through another's eyes as it'll leave them with the special character defining affliction, but give them a chance to see(once more in some cases).

Sometimes the best way to handle science fiction is to just not explain it. I'm kinda glad you didn't. The comic itself is extremely sweet, and while a bit saddening was very enjoyable to see. I'm not usually much for OC inserts and so on, but this was a wonderful exception to my rule of thumb. =)
