Jacent is one of those archetypes of characters I regularly see, but is usually done rather poorly. The "human in a world of furries" thing usually falls under an awkwardly on-the-nose self insert, or a comically by-the-books straight man everydude. Jace certainly has a sense of normalcy that comes from his time, but it's clear that he himself is very odd, and you get the impression over time that he didn't exactly fit in during his own time, either.
It's difficult to say which development is the most shocking: that people now have animal features, that there's more green now than in his time... or that boys now have curves.
