these designs may be fine tuned in the future, but for now I'm pleased with them. to go over what the thought process for this was most obviously an egg. The stage 1 never fully left its egg shell after it hatched, using it to protect itself in battle. stage two breaks a little more out of its shell and uses the top as a helmet. at this point the shell is beginning to meld with the creature. stage 3 the egg shell is now fully fused to the creature and strengthens as it does
