37...You're older then me...34.  I know getting 'old' sucks but there is one quote that I like and follow;
"You're only young once, but you can be immature forever."
Don't let the age get to you, enjoy the day now, and let tomorrow come when it does.

Hey!  I love that radio station!  It's on iTunes, and I listen to "Big Band Jump" regularly!

Also, I think Jason Kay of Jamiroquai said it best:

"Time won't wait for you
So do all the things you wanted to
Better hurry up, take it in your stride
And use your resolution which you've been supplied"

"And love won't change you, boy, it's true
I can tell you till my face is blue
Every second screams, listen to your dreams
Ooh, 'cause you just can't stop the pop"

Hey I'm 32 and I am not happy about ether everyone says I am still young but when I look back at what I did with my life so far. I am unhappy and I am to old to basicly do what I wanted to do in life. so I just got to live the best way I can now.

Well, I, myself am currently 39.

That's right, in just a few very short months, I'll be the big Four-Oh.

Be lying if I said that it didn't bum me out sometimes.

Then I remember this little pearl of wisdom:

Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

Well, what can I say...I'm 21 tomorrow and it already started.
When I met my gf four years ago, time started to fly by, as I just passed the weeks and months until I could see her again. When I'm alone, I spend my whole freetime at my desk, before my pc. Hours pass in the blink of an eye and before you know it, it gets dark outside. 'Oh well', you think 'Let's make it a long night', but suddenly you look out of the window and the sun is rising again. You get to school or work and do your thing, then you come home and it's the same again. You start to oversleep weekends and week after week passes...events pass, without leaving the slightest impression and you start to put things on the shelf, even important things and you're only like 'Alright, I'll do it after that, blabla', but then the next event passes, that was once important, but you don't enjoy it anymore and afterwards you feel down, so you can't get yourself doing the important stuff and you act the same over and over again and it gets worse everytime, because you just can't see the point of all that. You look around and there are unashamed hypocrites and witless show-offs (so-called 'Stars') everywhere. You may have some really good friends by that time and it seems like they're standing up to it like pillars in the raging see, but you can't hold on to them, because they have their own lifes now and some of them even feel the same as you. Drama appears seemingly out of nowhere and you take your distance from people, because you can't stand it anymore, but somewhere there comes the point, where you don't care anymore. You close yourself off for others and they call you cold, but it's the only way to protect the few pathetic remains of your mind...

Oh god, I don't know what happened...I've had the weirdest feelings right now...

Pfffft, I'm 60....

And yes, I'm glad to see someone else enjoys the same radio station I listen to.

Happy birthday dear.

Hugs.

Mmm, WHRO's 1920s Radio Network... I get it online direct from the station, and it's a reason I have the WHRO webapp on my old iPod touch... :)

I'll be 49 this October 10, so you're still a kid to me... :)

I'm still 37 for anudda month.  and while I may be fat and balding, I still like the same stuff as the more worldly high school kids today.  time is relative.  each day is the same length, but it's a hair of a smaller percentage of your experiences every time you witness one more.  if you live like there's no tomorrow, you might not have one, but I've found it's better to live life like you only get one chance to do everything.  and do stuff you know you don't like, to make sure you still don't like 'em.  your tastes may change one day, and surprise you.

Life is too short, love every minute of it and hold all those goals you earned and dance to music even if you look stupid but you never know what will happened around the corner.

I'm 36, single, no kids, living with my best friend. I have a simple job that pays for my bills and my luxuries, and funds my holidays. I'm now taking singing lessons and about to start keyboard lessons for a possible career in music. Never too late to try something new!

Permit me if I may, to relate to you a few RL details. In exactly one week I will be 54 in calendar years. There was a time when I was too mature for my age; wanting to be too respected, taken too seriously. Since having a child later in life, I find that embracing my inner child had become fun, and I enjoy the fun of being silly, enjoying a unique and even twisted sense of humor. Artzilla and otakuman are of my generation, and I believe we all share that carefree attitude that I hope comes from either our own childish innocence or from the innocence of the times we grew up in when people were more respectful (generally) of each other, something that seems to be lacking today. Beyond that, I was a very intelligent child, sophisticated for my age, and at about the age of 8 or 9, I recall crying softly to myself because I became aware then that I was getting too old to play in the dirt with toys and would soon look as ridiculous as I would now doing the same thing. I have never owned a home, never bought anything more expensive than a used car, and other than too many possessions, nothing to call my own.  But I do have one thing of which I am very proud, I have a daughter who is growing up with the same big head, artistic talent, and twisted sense of humor that I have, and even though she is now going through the "I want to be taken seriously" stage, she will one day, I hope, come to appreciate the same sense of humor that I do and will remember me fondly.

You are quite welcome, my friend. I know it was mostly about "my" struggle with aging, but my goal was to show that I understood your feelings and sympathized, even to show just how far back I was actually aware of my own mortality. I knew even as a child that life was more meaningful than who won a sporting event, or some pissing contest with a jock-jerk, so I rarely engaged in such feats. My only regret is not being independently wealthy so I could afford to explore life and histories deeper mysteries. That's where the important things are.

I'm 37 as well and time certainly seems to move faster and faster. I refuse to get an ulcer over it though. We all come to the clearing at the end of the path, and there's not a thing to be done about it except, to paraphrase Bukowski, live so well that death trembles to take us.
As for the people with the minivans and mortgages and tuition to pay, they can have it if it makes them happy. I prefer to spend my time reading and socializing and working when I have to. It's not like we can take anything with us when we go.
Fuck the clock! Regret is for suckers!

20's music? Don't mind if I do.

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way...

I may have misspelled it but I am never sure because there are a number of Hispanic based languages, as I'm sure you know, and they do spell some things differently. At one time I lived in south Florida, so I picked up a little Spanish then but that was some years ago.
krezz

There is only one spanish language, but people of every country has their own way to pronouce words. Just compare the way that english is spoken in the US, England and Australia. Not to mention the great variety of idioms.

Don't ever worry about how short life is - you forget to live it if you do! I almost didn't make it into this world and I was sick all the time when I was very young. No matter how difficult life may seem, it is worth living. ^_^

Yeah, my own birthday is sneaking up on me too.

If it's any consolation, I believe that time only exists in the mind. We experience the past and future through our expectations. But in reality, there is only the ever-changing present.
Why would nature care that we humans decided to wrap a pair of a rulers around a circle and name each inch an hour?
