Overall I thought it was a lot more consistent in quality than any of the previous seasons, and also very good. There were two episodes I didn't like, and one or two that were 'meh'. On the flip side there were two that were so amazing that I couldn't quite believe it.
The finale was pretty intense and an all around great job, though the teen-anime fight at the end came out of nowhere, and the subsequent toy commercial was unfortunate: they could've used that time to draw out the two seconds between the despair and hope. As often is the case they're forced to jump right to it and defeat the villain almost instantly due to time constraints. Also, I really liked that tree house, so the consequences there were also a bit icky. I have to be positive though and focus on a stellar cast of characters. Discord, Centaursatan, and Twilight were excellent stars and I also thought Flutters was a good supporting role this time. They somehow made the themes work together and divulged a phenomenal plot.
