Technomages - Magic by Force

Magic users by proxy. Typically regarded as bastard magic by both sorcerers and wizards, the exact concept is a bit loose due to recent breakthroughs in magic-tech. Just about anyone can pick up a magic-tech weaponry and make use of it - the term technomage is generally reserved for those with a stronger understanding of how the tech works, the nature of magic, and how they interact.. Proper technomages can make use of magic-tech to directly manipulate magic and push magic-tech beyond its’ normal capabilities.

Unlike sorcerers and wizards, a technomage’s body is not taxed by the use of magic - instead, they are limited by their supply stored in crystals they carry on their person or build into their weapons. Technomages will frequently carry weapons that allow them to absorb magic spells to recharge their crystals, or use their weapons to redirect spells back at their users. Technomages commonly use tech-staffs, power-gauntlets and magic-rifles.

Technomages are most common amongst felines - a result of being one of the biggest creators of magic-tech - similarly, human magic-tech development has led to a few human technomages. Technomages are incredibly rare amongst other races, but not unheard of.
