This is the 6957-1 Solar Snooper from the Space Police II Lego sub-theme.  As a child, I looked everywhere for this particular model, but could never find it. As an adult, it is still one of my favorite Lego sets.

From start to finish It took me roughly 5 hours to build in MLCAD. The majority of that time was spent adjusting myself to the many black blocks that make up the set. Black is not my favorite color to work with - particularly in MLCAD - when it comes to Legos.

For those interested in acquiring the actual MLCAD file of this set, follow this link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=542799 .
Constructed in MLCAD / Rendered in LDView.

I remember having that space police set as a kid. Wish I knew where they were now. Never could get their giant space ship to stay together when I went to play with it, lol.

That's just part of the fun when it comes to playing with building blocks. You build the set, then tear it apart a few hours later, and use its parts in a new creation! ^^
