I heard a great piece of advice several years ago. If ever you find yourself in an art block, draw your characters. They're the ones you know and they'll be the easiest. The next thing you know, you'll not only have improved your characters, you'll want to draw something else! Art Block slaying through practice!

So, last night I went to IHOP and Tiji and I worked on improving Dr. N for all those upcoming sketches. We also worked on my hair-drawing ability.

I really like the pouty one on the bottom. I think it's one of the best faces I've done in a long time. Trimmed up her sides, but I'm thinking I'm going to keep the sides long from now on.

Also, an attempt at a logo for Formi-Cola, the best carbonated ant-flavored beverage ever! Now in lemon-ant, honeypot, high acid, extra shells (the crunchiest cola ever!), and extra smooth (no shells at all!). The idea was to have the little ants going all the way around the perimeter.

I like the side view of her a lot.  The anti eater head shape came out very well.  Front view above it works alright too, as do the more sketchier ones up top.  Not too fond of the furthest left one, though.  Formi-cola is a fun name, though it makes me think of formica for some reason, or maybe formic acid.  Top left one just to the right of the furthest left is quite cute.  Looks like it could be a deer or even a baby dragon, but I like it.

Formica is a genus of ants (the wood ants, mound ants, and field ants) and funny enough, formic acid got it's name by being the kind of acid ants (the ones with acid pores instead of stingers) spray. Even the family of ants is called Formicidae. *nod*
