Mlp base is generation 1 Secret Surprise pony.
Entirely gutted out the inner compartment of the SS pony. Wasn’t a easy task and only took me customizing like 5 different SS ponies to figure out how to remove the stuff entirely…. XD
Full body repaint in maple sugar tan acrylics; eyes also hand-painted acrylics in realism textures.
Mane and tail are re-rooted in Hasbro mlp hair in the colors raspberry sorbet and wysteria. Medium purple is saran Barbie hair in the color Great Grape, and gray plugs are Restoredoll hair.
This job required both methods of re-hairing, both the needle and the wire method as I use old plugs from older projects from back when I only used the wire method. So I end up having to switch back and forth between methods depending on what color I’m putting in the scalp.
Hair styled with a hair dryer set on high setting to get the hair to lay flat.
First outfit layer starts off as base layers of black acrylic paint applied to the front and hind legs. Medium dark blue mesh matierial (custom dyed via navy blue Rit Dye) sewn on top of the black layers of paint. Boots start off with a thin layer of black deerskin leather. On the backs of the legs next applied is rectangular strips painted with purple acrylics, detailed in black hemp.
Fronts of the toe areas are inverted leather (suede side). All detailed in strips of black leather, and plastic cording Krazy glued around edges. Crafted metal buckles from thick silver wire, shaped and cut with pliers. Finished with a thin line of white & gray faux fur glued along the tops.
Next outfit layer constructed is the belly/back area. Started with a black cotton material, glued black hemp then glued brown and black strips of leather.
Topmost layer towards neck is thin deer skin black leather with the same help piping detail lined up with the main torso piece, lined with the shiny black plastic cording. Middle piece is 3 layers of leather with a strip of purple acrylics painted down the middle, lined with black hemp. Metal rhinestone at the top.
Silver pieces are black leather painted in gray, metallic pewter and silver acrylics.
Next, did the thigh armor. Inverted black leather (suede side) lined with 3 layers of shiny black plastic. Top layer is the shiny side of the black leather with the shiny plastic along the edges.
Neck piece is two layers of the black deer skin leather (inverted suede side) hemmed with black maxi piping sewn along the top edges of the two layers.
Front leg armor is constructed of a thicker black leather, painted in purple acrylics paint sealed with mod podge. Circular area is lined with hand-sewn black maxi piping. Navy blue shiny bits are black leather with a shiny navy blue material glued over top, lined with black hemp at the tops. Shoulder armor is black leather with the shiny black plastic strips Krazy glued in place.
Separate black leather strips used for gauntlets with black maxi piping at the tops with circular pieces of painted purple leather with metal rhinestones, metal hoops, and silver sire layered together.
Chest piece is belt leather painted indigo with indigo plastic strips detailing it. At the corners of this piece are two pieces of black leather with black maxi piping lining the bottoms of these pieces. Strip of lavender bias tape across the top with a upsidedown purple moon rhinestone in the middle. Another strip of black leather joins all these pieces together and goes around the back of the neck.
Metal hoops with rhinestones glued in the middle accented throughout the entire armor design.
Head band is a purple & black spider web printed cotton material that is tied at the back of his head under his hair. All bead work is strung on floral wire. Authentic Native American metal feather pendants used on one of the strands, all turquoise pieces are real turquoise/jade. The black arrow head is a authentic piece I picked up at a Native American specialty store.
Sword:
Cut general shape from clear plastic pony packaging. Painted red and blackish areas with acrylic paints on the back side of the plastic.
All jagged/rugged pieces are leather that I detailed in acrylic paints. Used pliers to add 3 silver metal rings at the tip of the sword. Hemp detailing throughout the sword. Eye is a painted glass bead. Hilt is a stiffened strip of thick brown leather with hemp twisted around it.
The sword is all durable. Since it’s made of all leather and plastic, nothing will ever break off of it and there’s no fragile parts on it. All durable, baby!
