yeah, i'm not sure. When i try to draw them more chubby, like hasbro's style, they end like this, so i gave up and just went with it. I ended up liking this type of body than the original anyway, looks more huggable imo. Looks more like you are hugging a real pony (not a irl pony) and not just a lifesized toy :P

I'll always advise artists not to copy a style outright when learning new things. It's ok to be heavily influenced by something but everyone draws differently and trying to draw in a particular style that isn't your own can be frustrating. My own style is kind of similar to the show, but cut with a hint of Jeff Smith's Bone. My friend's ponies, however, look kind of like teddy bears in a way and they are just too cuddly. D:
