Effort well-spent, if you ask me! There are so many different colors and designs shown here that your attention never stays in one place. The bouquet especially is a lovely eye-catcher.

I think this is by far the best art of yours that I have ever seen. Not just slightly, either. You've set yourself an entirely new bar for skill and quality.

The whole - the gestalt of it. But that's a shit answer. Let me try to figure out what specific things about this piece impress me so much.
# The lines, the inks, are what stands out for me most, I think. Different line thicknesses throughout, and more importantly, changing line widths, particularly obvious on her hair which just looks fantastic. I know this sounds a small thing, but this - the tapering ink outlines of the hair - is a *huge* part of what elevates this piece above all the others, in my opinion. "Izzy on the beach with drink", though much sketchier, is similar in a lot of good ways :) # The style also stands out - very art nouveau, somewhat tarot card. It has a very strong, bold style, which says very clearly "this isn't just a picture, this is ART!" # There is strong style not just in the picture itself, but also in the character and her clothing: a touch of steampunk, a touch of eastern exotic, a lot of demure summer dress. # The character design itself is very distinctively "your style" with the big head, small body thing going on, but seems slicker, cleaner, more refined. Like, there's something about the white part of her face, which just looks... *right*. It's clean, a closed shape that just... I don't know :( # The details - not so much specifics, as the fact that there ARE a lot of details. # The composition - balanced but asymmetrical. # The background really makes this pic. I mean, it'd be a fantastic pic without it, but the design of the background, the variety and detail and thought that went into it, the combination of smooth organic shapes and crisp geometric ones # I can't pin down anything else in particular that I liked, but I was surprised that the shading was *not* one of those things. If anything, the shading detracts from the crisp cleanness, and even detracts in some places, like the border of the "lilianna". The shadow of the chain over the face, though, is great, giving her face form and depth. # The inks. I said this already, but I'm saying it again to end on the most important thing. Those are some damn good inks!
