I've been getting more intrigued by the idea of doing more painterly stuff, so I had to start somewhere--in this case, I decided to just half-mindedly experiment on the side while talking to Ketsa about other things.
That being said, I was giggling a bit because I think this looks a little creepy.
/)*3*/) FLOOOOOFY! i think it turned out lovely, the only reason for the slight creepy vibe in my opinion is the dark shadow effect at her eyes created by her white muzzles contras with her face. the other thing to look out for is the nature of texture hints on her cheeks and general facial area as this can have a surprisingly huge effect on what emotion the character is invoking in the viewer. \(>ヮ<)/ that poofy floofy woofy tail is just so perfect though, /)*3*/) i wana snuggle it so bad!

Her tail in this is superb (it looks really realistic; scarily so in fact you almost want to reach out at it!), and I Like the shading on her top and the jaggedy fur lines on the cheeks; it goes really well with that paint-ey style you went for. Love the glow in those eyes too, probably because I like jewel-like eyes like that in general; they're like jewels almost :).
Though you know... they do look like they're... actually glowing here.... (O_O OHGODSHE'SAVAMPIRE! XD just kidding).

Her tail seems so wispy, it's almost like a cloud upon which she's resting her arm. The muted colors (save for her eyes) make her endearingly, I dunno, just .. it evokes good feelings. For the creepiness, I think your eye rendering techniques may need adjustment to fit in with this style, but otherwise I do not know. If you offer painterly style on future commissions, I'd be keenly interested.
