It's the last day, of the last month of the year. Time for clearing out the old and making way for the new. So, towards that end, I've compiled together four old tracks into an EP - four tracks that I'd always been meaning to go back and do something more to, but never got around to it.

Here's UNFINISHED, an EP in four parts.

Part 1: EDDIE:
I use a Line6 Guitarport to get my guitar into the computer. And among it's vast pile of sampled gear are the Variaxed amp and effects used by Eddie van Halen. So I slapped them into place in the proper order, as any gearhead would, and noodled around with them. This was the end result. Not exactly Van Halen, but kinda fun anyway.

Part 2: TIME HAS COME TODAY:
Yes, it's the old Chambers Brothers hit, which I first encountered by way of the Ramones. Could have used some vocals on this, as it gets a bit repetitious without them. I also left out the psychadelic break in the middle. Oh well - this is UNFINISHED.

Part 3: DANGER LOVE:
I started fiddling around with this one, during a time when it seemed that everybody I knew was going thru a rough patch on the road to romance. One breakup after another, one tale of woe after another. "She broke up with me right after I bought the ring to propose." "Hah, mine ran off to Canada to shack up with some guy she met on the internet." and so forth... Only part of the lyrics that ever got written was the chorus:

Oh, Danger Love
Oh, Danger Love
When It steals your heart
it throws your mind away

Oh, Danger Love
Oh, Danger Love
Yeah, it feels so good
and then it goes away

...man, is that bitchy.

I always meant to go back and finish this later. Well, welcome to later, and it's still UNFINISHED.

I love how tight the kick drum sounds on this one. Wish I remember how I did it.

Part 4: STAND BY ME:
It's the rock n' roll classic by Ben E. King - as performed by Twisted Sister. No, really, that's what I was going for. What if Twisted Sister had recorded Stand By Me?

Would have liked to put vocals on this, but I don't have the voice required. I'd need a week with sandpaper and gallon of gin to get the amount of vocal gravel right.

So, it remains UNFINISHED.

Also added the cover image to the pool. This image is also already embedded in the mp3 files as cover art, so if you load the tracks into itunes, or any other mp3 player that handles cover art, you'll see it.

Enjoy.

Almost wish I could hear all the lyrics to "Danger Love". And it's cute to see the little Cobalt image pop up on my player, so many times it's just blank. I hope you finish at least a few of these ond day.

Hee, thanx. I like doing cover art. It feels more complete that way.

:3 Nice work, Cobalt! ^_^ I been trying to learn an instrument myself, but sadly, I suck as a musician. X3

Heh, so do I. You just gotta keep telling yourself that doesn't matter, and go do it anyway.

Oh, you do not. :3 You show considerable talent in the musical yarn with this song, and the others.  I tried keyboard once, but it sounds more like someone is hitting someone with it than someone is playing it. ^_^;
