Er, I see this going one of two ways. 1, the wolf thing just flat out rapes her after lulling her into a sense of security. and 2, he convinces her that she just needs to be more forceful and turns her into a werehog. She could then transform and, overcome with lust, she runs across basically any male you so choose and mates with them.

I personally just like Tails as a character. Some might like the idea of Tails having an unrequited crush being fulfilled, while others might just like the older woman/younger boy aspect of it.
There's also the lack of alternatives to consider. Knuckles isn't exactly the type you'd go to with a broken heart, or any kind of emotional problem, same with Shadow. Silver is... Silver, and close to Blaze, who Amy would be actively avoiding by now. I doubt she can bring herself to see Big the Cat in a romantic light, even for a one night stand. And the Chaotix as a whole are just too weird to approach.
